Hi,
I want to use this item in parlour situations as an opener. I'm familair with the workings of this item, and I understand it's pretty easy to make yourself. However, I'm not very handy and don't have the time or briefcase to make up this item myself. So I've decided to just buy one. My question is: where should I watch for when shopping for one of these? Which are considered good and which are bad? And important: Can anyone recommend a specific type? I read on the net that there is one available from daytonamagic where you can show both sides of the briefcase after you've produced the bowlingball or basketball. Not that I consider that absolutly necessary but it can come in handy sometimes I reckon. I probably want to produce a basketball, because it gives good contrast with the black case and my black suit. Also I think it's more visible in working enviroments with crappy lighting conditions. I assume it doesn't matter for the case if you produce a bowlingball or a basketball, but is this really so or are there seperate cases for bowlingballs and basketballs? Any help is highly appreciated! regards Simon |

If using a bowling ball, the case should be strong enough to hold the weight. Bowling balls are available in many other colors that would also contrast your suit. In my opinion, bowling balls are better in that they are definitely solid. basketballs are inflatable, and even though it is remotely unlikely that we could manage a way to do this, the spectator may assume that we somehow inflated it. They think all kinds of strange things! Bowling balls are however, heavier items to pack with your show. Although not a concern for me, it may be for some.
Showing the case freely after the trick means attention was not properly focused in the right areas. I believe that to be overkill, and unnecessary. I made my own, and NEVER had anyone ask to see the other side, and I've done it for many crowds that would! ~michael

Its not a Daytona Item... Being from the Netherlands... There's no reason you should buy it from them.. It will probably be a knock off anyway..
Just do a search.. Magic auction has a few right now... |

There are basketballs that don't require a gimmicked case. I think http://www.stevensmagic.com has them.
