Frank,
Have you tried a riffle pass with the face-up card on the top of the original bottom half? Man, when it's done right, it sure looks like it just popped up to the top. Have you seen the Ellusionist video. I don't care what anyone says, Brad Christian's passes rock. That riffle pass with a face-up card is unbeatable, in my opinion. |

I've sometimes ended by showing the card enter the deck face up in the middle and revealing it with a Midnight Shift. It's a bit angle sensitive though, depending where the spectators are standing. It seemed to go down well - when I've used it.
I would use a riffle pass as Bart suggests, but my 'Classic Pass' isn't really good enough to stand such direct attention... yet! But I've also been thinking about turning the deck face up and inserting the card face up in the middle. Then using the same Midnight Shift move to show it jump to the face. Although it might not seem like such a dramatic contrast, the advantage I saw was that afterwards, I could pick up a double or triple from the face of the deck, roll the remainder of the deck face down in my left hand and then drop the multiple card on top. Turn 'it' face down and be two or three steps ahead again. Still thinking about how to present that, but I like the idea. Jon. |

Nice routining. I try and keep my AC short. I saw Jamy Ian Swiss do his routine at the Castle years ago. His moves were flawless but the routine went on forever. The card must have come to the top 15 times. I start out with a triple and then the move. Then a double. Then Marlo's move. Then I just put it face up in the middle and do a classic pass. It seems to get fairer and fair as I go along and the face up pass looks like real magic. So that's 4 times and then I can finish with a wallet ending or Sankey's @&#!

Good point, I think Paperclipped is a nice ending to Ambitious Card.
Actually I don't usually Ambitious Card because it's a bit to much what people are expecting to see, and I can't find any justification for making it come to the top more than once, except to "prove" that I didn't "cheat," or to disprove how they think I might have done it. I don't like to prove anything to anyone in my magic routine. If I could really make a card come to the top of the deck, I'd do it once and move on. I wouldn't do it 10 times or even 5. That having bedn said, it's occasionally requested, so it's nice to have a tight little AC routine. Weren't we talking about card to ceiling? |

i like the ConC idea but if your AC is only made of controls to top then its not good. me myself and my AC isn't all that i do turnovers, traspositions and such with in my routine so ConC would work in some AC's is my point. also i don't see the reasoning to card to wallet in an AC routine why would the card go to the wallet? if its rising to the top all the time

The one-handed top palm is an awesome idea for an ambitious sequence Frank!
