Hi.
I started magic about 2 months ago after watching one of Blaine's TV special.
(I dind't even know who David Blaine was)

At the very beginning of the TV special, he riffle through the cards toward the camera, and make me choose one card and remember it. And he revealed the card with snap change.

Could you tell me the name of the force and a DVD lecture that contains the force?
Thanks in advance

This is a simple force that is not 100% but done right can be effective. Unfortunately I do not know the origin of it or where you might find it. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you out.

I don't have any DVD references, but there is a brief description in Erdase under "methods of determining a card thought of", and I am sure Banachek's PS1 also has some details of this force.

Check out Nicholas Einhorn's book.

It';s a great beginners book anyway-so you'll probably appreciate it.

Nicholas Einhorn's book is excellent, in spite of his erroneous reference to Bobo as a turn of the century French Magician!

Vernon does an effect called 'Riffled Thought' in the "More Inner Secrets of Card Magic" book. The technique here is used in a manner where you don't know the card that will be peeked until after the riffle. However, the book also tells you methods on how to use this to force a previously noted card.

There are a few versions of doing this. It is based on the principle that if a card is shown longer than the others, it will stick in the spectator's mind. This is in Erdase's Expert at the Card Table. There are a few downloads on the Internet (legal and from trusted sites) where you could get the book. It is pretty good for beginners. PM me for a link.

NOTE: If this is exposure, edit this if you want. I don't know how strict this forum is.

I believe this force is pyscological. I have this episode taped and know people
who did and didn't choose "that" card. I believe David Blains book talks about this a bit or something similar.

The force is not psychological.

I thought the force was based on a shaved card...

This force probably is psychological, since if you look at a card more than others, it will stick out in your mind and cause a spectator to think of that card. This does use a shaved card to aid in the selection, but you could probably do this impromptu by rifling and stopping quickly at a card with you remembering that card. It's a bit harder, though, to remember the card that you stop at.

You can also find a video of me performing the same thing to the camera here:

After regaining my ability to hear after 20 years of deafness. I learned that there is magic all around you. The simplest sounds that amazed me you probably ignore. Look and listen around you right now. You'll find something you didn't notice before.
