Philemon,

I had fun poking fun at your fun pokers. Only the nose knows for sure, but I'm glad I caught you in a good mood.

Nice to meet you.

Can someone who saw David Williamson's lecture on friday night fill me in on what happened with a video camera?

I had to leave right after the Mac King lecture.

Hey Brian,
I wish I could duplicate the events of the lecture camcorder incident, but that would be like trying to stop a runaway train by jumping in front of it. It cant seriosly be done. In my weak attempt it started out with a 10 year old kid video taping his lecture. Instead of taking offense and asking hiim to please not do that he brought the kid on stage for a better view and then proceeded to make it look on camera, that he was smacking the kid around for trying to put his stuff on You Tube. A very funny skit that came off as very impromptu. It is this comedic skill of using the audience that I admire most in David Williamson and Mac King, that keep thier performances so fresh. They have the ability to do serious improv with their magic. That only comes from doing thousands of shows, and years of experience. It became very evident on the Saturday night show when after going through Kramien's props from his old touring days they( Mr. Mysto, Caveny, Lenart, King,David Charvet, and David Williamson came up with a show that I am not sure could ever be duplcated, nor should it!!! It has become one of those moments that will be forever locked in my brain. I think we all got a glimpse of their brilliance that night. Sorry Brian that I could not explain your question better.

Hey Sterling,

It was good getting to know you and your dad. It was a lot more than our chance meeting Las Vegas. I looked at your video, your very well rounded. My 17 year old daughter thinks your cute. Keep up the good work and you'll go far.

Until we appear again,

Hiya Gang,

Well, I left from Kramien's directly to Florida where I'm typing this from the beach. Life is good, lol. Anyway, I'll go into more detail later but I wanted to send out a blanket Thank You to everyone who stopped by the booth and said "Hi!'. It was an absolute pleasure meeting everyone in person and I had a fantastic time. Even my wife lived through it, which means a lot, lol.

Again, you guys (and gals) were great,

Thanks Kipp,
I am glad you liked the video. It was my hope that it would show more of my range in magic versus just my competition routines. My dad always says that people and opportunities will come into your life, and most of the time not by coincidence. I enjoyed spending time with you, and Chaz. Also thanks for your words of encouragement concerning my magic.

Hey Jamie,
It was great to finally meet you! ...And you know something? I actually found the perfect spot for my "Anything Is Possible" bottle. Smile

Kipp,
Great meeting you, too!

See you next year, if not sooner!

I echo everyone's comments about this being a once in a lifetime convention. This is my fourth Jamboree and this one was just plain unbelievable. Not only were the lectures and shows fantastic but the headliner magicians made themselves very available to everyone. I really can't think how one could top this.
Did anyone else feel like their ear drums exploded from the one act's explosion in the escape routine. After their act ended Stan said he couldn't even think what to say. Sitting as close as Stan was I truly believe he was shell shocked for a few minutes.
For me the funniest part of the evening was seeing David Williamson make the one boy spit out the fig newton into David's hand and then turn around and offer it to the little girl. My god, the guy was just insane that night.

I seriously missed out by taking off early. However I had some commitments to stick to. But next year I will stay the entire time. I really wish Stan would make it 2 full days or 3 days instead of the 1-1/2 days. But then again the prices would have to jump to cover the extra day.

I have come to realize that Stan is old school. Not knowing much about him I googled him in. http://www.stevensmagic.com/featuredstory/Kramien/index.htm and http://www.stevensmagic.com/gemini/Stan%......art1.htm
the statement "Leave them begging for more" is a lesson for us all, that Stan ovioulsy understands.

You should throw your hat back into the ring. Lord knows I could use the competition. I've got Marie interested in doing my Sub-Trunk routine next year for the stage contest. Unless I can convince Stan to put it in the Saturday Show.

Yeah, now that Mac King has told me to stop competing I'll have to wiggle my way into the evening shows.

We should convince Stan to let us do the All "Seattle Stars of Magic Show" on Friday since we have the preponderance of the prize winners up here and we could most likely bring downa sound system that works.

LOl yeah that would be fun and we definatly have the talent...heck it would be our normal smoke and mirrors show. I may just have to send Stan an email on that. Brian

PS and I can bring my sound system down...theres has to many issues.

I thought it was a guy just yelling what the performer was saying through a megaphone behind the curtain. B

Sad news from George Olson (from the Genii Forum)...

"Stan Kramien was admitted to the Hospital following a heart attack on May 11th. As many of you know, Stan's "Jamboree" was the end of April, and he was kind of run-down (he didn't know he had pneumonia and things just happened. I visited him yesterday and he was anxious to go home tomorrow (Saturday the 19th). So if you've got a minute, drop him a note or give him a call. I know he would appreciate it!:

his home number is 503 277 2478. His e-mail address is on his website stankramien@yahoo.com. "

That was sad to hear that Stan had a heart attack. The big question will be the extent of damage to his heart muscle. Am going to send him a get well email and I hope some of the others who were at the Jamboree will do likewise.

On a side note regarding the Jamboree does anyone know if they are going to be selling a DVD of that Saturday night's performance?
