Does anyone HERE have an alternate story for this effect? Don't get me wrong I like Michaels, just looking at different ideas.
(I know Carl Andrews has a version)

Not sure if this will help but a Google for 'frog tales' turned up some stuff as well as this site.

Excellent. I am a big proponent of search engines, and here I am not heeding my own advice. Thanks Jaz.

I am not familiar with the Michael Close trick, but in my storytelling repertoire, I have two different endings for the traditional tale.
I often tell all three together, I begin with the well known version, pretty well as known. Then I tell 'What really happened.....!' And then I have the 'Feminist' version. PM me if you're interested. Leslie
Stories....?....That's telling!

Michael Closes' The Frog Prince is the one card trick I truly enjoy doing whenever the opportunity presents itself. I tried it in my restaurant venues but found it was a bit long from beginning to the climax (especially if the spectators were drinking). I prefer to do this in a more leisurely, relaxed setting. People love the story and the effect.

Beautiful piece of card magic to say the least. This is one trick everyone must at least see. I have been in card magic for years and this one rates at the top of my list.

It's a clever routine. I think because "Illusions" was a magic restaurant, Michael had more time for performance peices. If you worked a wedding banquet where people were seated at tables, you could do it.
