Any suggestion's of how to get press coverage? One I can think of, Doing Charity Gigs but how do you go about getting in the paper, etc.

You should check out the many websites and books on writting Press releases. I know this is how it works in the US. I'm not sure about Ireland. Edd

For charity gigs, the charity can usually get publicity that you cannot. Offer to do PSA (public service announcement work with them) work as part of the package. Daytime talk television is always looking for programing. Offer to interview or do a trick on the air. (Taping it is better because it doesn't cost you work time and it is easy to repeat.)

If you don't ask, you don't get.
Contact everyone you can, paper, radio, tv, etc....tell them you're an up and coming and you've got a brand new show for corporate/college/kids, whoever. Even if you've been around for years....if the media don't know you, they wont know how long you've been going! |

Also remember that the most important thing at a newspaper is press-time! Make it easy for them. Try to hand them finished goods.
