I watched a performance of a famous hypnotist have a man become drunk without a drop of alcohol. I didn't believe it for a second; so I had to try it...

...It worked.

So far I have spilt sprite all over my keyboard (I don't know how in the world it is still working).

Had trouble walking and typing.

Exact same feeling of intoxication.

I have shook it off...but I am really curious to how in the world this works? I just don't see how the mind can trick it self like that.

Anyone else try this...any tips? It was quite fun.

Best to all,

Clock

What do you mean "you had to try it"? Was this video instructional in nature? How did you know what to do?

I wonder if I could hypnotize myself sober come last call...

Sorry had to make the lame joke. Don't drink and drive kids.

I'm very new to the subject of hypnotism, so I don't quite understand how you can hypnotise yourself to become drunk? I would have thought you could only perform this on another subject? Can anyone explain?

Cheers

Paul

At last a cure for alcoholism! Of course I'm just kidding, although I would imagine there have been ways to treat the problem through hypnotherapy for years.

Ah you saw the Derren Brown video. I too will be working on doing that to myself.

Well I tried it.
When I initially stood up I could feel the effects. I was walking a little wobbly and my chest felt quite warm and I was sweating slightly. But in a very short amount of time it was gone.
I'm not really sure how long I was doing it for, But I think it would have been more effective if I had hypnotized myself for a longer period of time or had someone else do it to me.

Would this work on someone who doesn't have a clue what "drunk" feels like?

Best,

No. It is the same idea as age regression. You will only behave and feel the way you think you should.

...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

I'm confused over how this is not working? If you think that's what drunk feels like even if you've never experienced it, you think you feel drunk. The exact same thing I think I'm feeling, subjectively the feeling might be a lot different, however you still have an individual that thinks they "felt drunk."

I'd like to auto-hypnotize myself from refraining from thinking about impure thoughts early dawn... my ciradian rhythm activates much libidinal energy at that part of the "day."
