Here is a good link to hat measuring. I do most of my magic in an impromptu style. So the hat will be ideal. |

I received my hat today. I usually take approx a 7 1/4 when its a fitted hat and I found this hat to fit fine. I did note that it tends to fit slightly differently if you where it with the gimmick in the front as opposed to the gimmick in the back. This is addressed in the instructions along with the pros and cons of which way you wear the gimmick. Quality is very good. Usefulness will be limited only to your imagination and what you can fit in it.
You will have to work with it a little become familiar with the change feature and also in getting it to be the fit or style you like for yourself (again this is noted in the instructions) but this would be the same for anyone breaking in a new ball glove or putting the creases into your bill switch and working them in etc to get it to "your own feel". Just my initial thoughts on mine received today. I'm certain once I have worked out the best use for it for my own style this will become a useful hidden tool like a t tip etc. Price is about right for it in my opinion. Anyone who gets one for street magic and chooses not to wear it, it can be used as your tip hat on the ground which is mentioned in the booklet as well. |

How large of an item can you load in it, before it starts to "bulge" tellingly?
A deck of cards, perhaps? Something lightly larger? A pack of smokes? And with the loaded item in the hat ready to switch in, does that present a bit of a discomfort problem on your head? Wow! It hit me, if you cold fit a deck of cards comfortably, you have the PERFECT deck switch device! At that point, the possible routines becomes limitless!
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

If the hat was made larger, would it still fit people who take a smaller size if a larger load was used? If the size of the load took up the extra space would this justify making the hat larger. The load size would vary but more people could wear
the hat. The size changes, for hats, are in 1/4 inch increments. Going from a 7 1/4 inch hat to a 7 3/4 hat would increase the load 1/2 inch. Still allowing enough room for keys, coins, cards ,ect for a person wearing a 7 3/4 size hat. Glenn |

Hello,
I was very excited about this product when it was first pre-advertised. I thought the thinking behind it was not only clever but topical as well. Hocus Pocus just received our first shipment today and I must say I am extremely impressed with this item. It is very well made and a real bargain at $24.95 and in my honest opinion could have sold at even a higher price. This one gets our highest recommendation! Best Regards Paul Gross Owner Hocus Pocus |

I have to agree the change cap is a fantastic product! I can’t believe they are selling these for only $25 They could be charging atleast $50
The quality is great, the booklet is informative but most importantly it is a good looking cap. It looks just like a normal ball cap. the only draw back from a normal change bag is you are a bit limited in what you can put in it size wise but there is so many small things out there that I’m not too concerned about that. what a great idea. Creative Magic has done it again. great job! Cam |

For Daves question and others:
ok a deck of cards would be a little bulky to fit and would not work. It is made to fit smaller flatter objects so a few cards would work but not an entire deck. Things that fit without being noticable; a crayon or small golf pencil, sticks of gum, small silks, pieces of paper etc. As for the change - I've used a regular ball cap in the past for a david cressey effect where you put in torn pieces of playing cards and shake them up; picture just squeezing the back of the hat towards the front together pinched between the fingers or hands so the cards don't fly out during the shaking; that's it; that's your cover and that's all you do. It looks (and is) a totally natural thing to do when mixing up the pieces (squeezing it closed so "you can't peek" while you're mixing) is all you need to have for a reason. Let me know if I can answer anything else. |

Well I received my cap today. I must agree with others, the quality is very nice. Remember I wear a size 7 3/8 hat. I am here to tell you it fits fine. You could probably get away with the hat if your size is one step above mine, but that's about it. The change mechanism is built in very well. The hat definately needs to be broken in, but they make that very clear in the instructions. I am going to start breaking it in this weekend and working with it. Hopefully I will get a chance to use it this next week. For the price, this is a steal. Great thinking and great execution.

Brian,
I wanted to chime in and say BRILLIANT THINKING on this idea! That is the way creators should be thinking. Get us out of using outdated props that haven't changed in over 100 years! Good luck with the sales Chance Wolf's Magic

Got my Change Cap today and I am very IMPRESSED. I'm not surprised though because I have been very pleased with everything I have purchased from Creative Magic. Like others have stated the Cap is VERY high quality. It looks so ordinary when you look inside that no one will suspect that it is gimmicked. The gimmick works very well. In about 15 minutes I had mastered the switch backwards and forwards (those that have one will know what I mean )
I can't believe these things sell for only $25. Great value here. |
