Does anyone know whats inside the Vernet vanishing salt shaker? I don't think it's salt. It looks more like crystals of some kind. I want to add to them as some of mine has leaked out over the years. Thank you in advance for your help.

Yep.
Take white sand. You'll find it in pet supply stores (it's for bird cages).
Much less aggressive than salt.

I think it might be some kind of powdered silicon.

Try a restaurant or hotel supply house. It's the fine sand used in cigarette urns.

Silica sand is available in many home and/or hardware stores. It is also used for sandblasting rigs. Wear a dust filtering mask when ouring out of the container.
