How do all of you avoid Magic Burnout? I've been working on putting together a street act (concentration on Cups and Balls) and I find that after a couple of weeks of practice, practicing turns into something I dread. I've tried shorter sessions, less frequent, you name it but it all starts to seem stale. If I take too long of a break I seem to lose everything that I have gained...which means my skills would play for a group of Ritalin-fatigued preschoolers but not much else. Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile...can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction, "I served in the United States Navy." J.F.K.

Get out there and perform it! If you are practiced enough to the point of knowing the handling protion of the routines so well they become boring and you have said your script while practicing you are ready to get out there.

Don't worry about being awful your first time out. I can tell you now you will be, so was I, and so was everybody else. By the end of the day you will be happy with what is happening and see the improvement.

Remember, Babe Ruth probably struck out the first time he held a bat. We were all beginners once.
