This effect has been on the market for quite some time now and I have read the reviews on the Café. I understand it's meant to be a one-on-one levitation and that it can be quite angle sensitive. What I'm wondering is this - After all of the glowing reviews right around the time of its initial release, is anyone ACTUALLY USING this effect?
Now that the effect has been on the market for awhile, I'm thinking of purchasing it. But I want to know if it is one of those effects that will actully be used, or simply thrown in the corner. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Kent

Yes. the creator of the icarus effect had originally posted the effect as a one on one levitation but I have succsessfully done it with about 5-6 people at a time
so magicman845 I deffinetly recommend the icarus effect but if you are still not sure then watch the video at this link WWW.icarus effect.com |

Generally if I pay that kind of money for a single effect, I'll force myself to do it just to justify buying it lol. But levitations aren't really my thing so I wouldn't pay that much for what you get.

Then if you do not want to spend that kind of money try the kings rising levitation you can get it for 20 bucks at http://www.ellusionist.com

The King Rising and Icarus, while similar in that they're both levitations, are completely different methods. I'm sure you realize that... but I just thought I'd point it out anyway. Because I'm like that.

But the thing with the king rising lev is they don't show you the set up you have to do before you can do the levitation, or the clean up lol.

Joey was referring to the clean up and setup of the King Rising if I am not mistaken and you annemarie think he is talking about the Iccarus.

Still the kings rising has no clean up or set up all you need is a jacket and shoes

Yes the jacket. Which they don't even give a hint at in the advertising to be something you need to have. And yes what you do with the jacket is called set up, as well as clean up. It's is things like that which remind me why I don't like ellusionst.

The jacket is used for misdirection, you hold it up in front of you and tell the spectators a story so that they do not look at what you are doing. even if they still look at your feet they cannot tell what you are doing if it is done correctly

Or you can perform the icarus one on one and place the jacket over the audience head.

So its agreed: kings rising does have a set-up and clean-up. Back to the thread...
Icarus effect is still being performed, if you go to the forum on the Icarus Effect site there are still discussions going on by those who bought it. I think its safe to assume that they are talking about performing it (as opposed to why its in the junk drawer) and sharing their experiences. I have nothing but positive things to say about the Icarus effect. It drops jaws and is practical after the initail installation. Plus the professionalism and customer service provided by its creator is top notch. Chris |
