Aside from the fact that this pair of controversial names is each tied to a controversial book, it appears that one will be acquiring the other.
Herbert Becker sounds like he's going to be publishing OJ's book on how he would have committed the murders (that is... if he did do them...) This guy just doesn't care what anyone thinks, he obviously could never make it as a magician so he has to do this so people give him attention.

My mother, while never having met the man, insists that O.J. Simpson was and is innocent.
Are you calling my mother a liar? I have reason to believe she may be insane.... But O.J. must be innocent, if not we'll know. He's writing a book detailing how he would have committed the murders. If it doesn't match up to how his victims were murdered, it would mean he didn't do it.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.
