You can purchase the Osborne/Cannon WTC plans from Cannon's Great Escapes http://www.cannonsgreatescapes.net

I have been building WTC's for a few years now and I was interested in seeing what Osborne and Cannons had come up with. I was exteremely disappointed.

The WTC model and gantry that they designed in the plans is very unrealistic for the working performer. The empty WTC weighs 700 lbs alone. Filled it weighs 3,100 lbs.
These plans do not offer any of the intricate details that are required to build a water filled tank. The use of epoxy to secure the bolt heads to the frame is just one example of the very poor design. Buyer beware!

Richard Sherry has indeed built some very nice WTC's and would be a good source to contact as well.

By the way... The Cannon's DO have a working model of the WTC! So based on the comment's by Richard Sherry... I would definitely be asking a few questions about their WTC plans. Perhaps their WTC plans differ from their actual working model?

I would highly recommend contacting John Gaughan! He has built several WTC's for other performers, and was the one who restored the original Houdini WTC from the Sidney Radner Collection, which is now in the Copperfield Collection!

He can be contacted at the following address -

Indeed the Water Torture Cell that the Cannons own and rent differs from the plans they sell. We have rented and used the Cannon's Water Cell.

They are not any easy thing to build...especially by yourself. There is metal work and glass/plexiglass work. Technically, engineering should be done to make sure it is being built correctly ands strong enough.

As Richard mentioned they can get very heavy very quickly. Even the lightest ones out there (most likely ours) are still heavy.

I forgot to mention illusion builder George Richbark!

He built a limited number of Houdini WTC replica's to scale.
