I have been collecting harnesses, holders and pockets recently, but I have settled on using those made by Thomas from magicsax.com
See my review here if your wondering why : http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......13&0 His stuff is just the best. What is your favorite holder, pocket and harness and why? Steven |

I would have to say I like the ones my wife makes and sells from Chameleon Fabrications.
They adjust to fit your dove. You don't have to trim tail feathers. They are available in a variety of colors. They can be made with monofilament or wire loops as desired. The pockets are made ready to go as well. Of course, I am biased more than just a little All the best, Rob |

The Best in my amature opinion...
Andy Amyx Ultra Quick Release Dove Holder General Grant's Holder Tony Clark's Auto Release one Peter White's Dove Holder Shimada Dove Holder (Always gota go with the classics) Andy Amyx Dove Pocket (they're huge for the smoothest steals ever) Dan Birch Invisible Dove Harness (safest) As we all know there really isn't' anything new in magic, including dove magic. Many of the products out on the market were taken out of Chaves, Ian Adair's book, or from Shimada and copied to be called "their own" to try to make a little extra money. The products I listed above I have found are not only original designs or based off of an old concept to make it more safe but also products used by professionals doing this every day and seeing the wear and tear along with the success of the safety of the bird.

Haywire, Thanks so much for the compliments! It's really nice to see that someone still respects his fellow magi without any insult or injury whatsoever! *smile* Sometimes in this business there are too many caught up in it for selfish reasons *clearing throat* and trash others to support their own, and its nice to see that someone really appreciates the art for what it is, and is goes out of his way to actually acknowledge another performer. Thanks Man - You Rock!
Everyone has their own personal favorites and what they work with, and what they feel comfortable with and that's a good thing (besides the oil companies, monopolies don't exist any longer)! As mentioned, most are some sort of rendition of others, but at the same time are different (just like doves). As in trying to make a little extra money, not necessarily in some cases. Some are just trying to help others to become better so the the magic industry thrives as a great art (as a whole, NOT as an individual), and so that people that can't afford to spend a lot of money still get quality to move them along - remember the term "Magicians helping Magicians"? - some may have forgotten that - " what goes around, comes around." Anyhow..Thanks Haywire...much appreciated! Checks in the mail! *haha* |

No problem Thomas,
You've been so helpful while I re-routined and re-tooled my act with more doves, new tools and new gear it was the least I could do. I use your stuff in every show and its never let me down, very good stuff. Just and FYI for everyone. I was not trashing anyone else's products by any means. I think the choice of holders and harnesses is just a personal one. Ask 5 dove magicians which are best and I think you'll get 5 different answers (as evidenced here). I'm really on a budget so Thomas being so inexpensive made a big part of my decision for me. I feel they are very usable and work for me very well so far. I think there is some great advantage to going with help from someone like Thomas, Or Rob's wife there, personal service is a great thing. Steven Posted: Feb 23, 2007 2:38pm I just got a new load of harnesses and holders from Thomas, and I think they are just great. This time, I even got him to make me a yellow one, and its great, very cool now I have yellow, green, blue, purple, red, white and black holders from him... Hopefully I am not getting on his nerves yet but I sent him some rainbow streamers to make me a special custom colored holder for streamers to dove... Personal service really is a great thing...
