Hey gang!
I am including a "Recommended Reading List" in my book, Theatrical Magic - The Book. What books are on your "must read" list for bizarrists, story tellers, etc? |

NO question Jim Magus' 'Midnight In The Dark Museum' is a keeper on that score.

Ian Rowlands advice for mentalists on his website. I'm sure it may offend a few but he is "telling it like he see it."

The works of Tony Shiels have had a big impact on me. Especially Cantrip Codex, a copy of which "found me" in a very surrealistic fashion Tony would be proud of!

I will second Hendoo's suggestions and add anything by H.H. the Dalai Lama. A lot of you don't want to hear about the deeper spiritual stuff, but folks, that's where we come from and I think that's where we should be going (just ask Baba).
Ok, in addition to that, let me offer: COMMUNICATING WITH THE DEAD,by Jeff Belanger THE YOGA OF TIME TRAVEL, by physicist Fred Alan Wolf THE BOOK OF WEREWOLVES, by Sabine Baring-Gould THE BOOK OF VAMPIRES, by Dudley Wright

Seance edited by Scott Davis and then modestly my stuff which is in the process of be re-published in one big thing as The Bigger Book of BOO. (First stuff I've reworked or released since the 80's and mid 90's.)
Also, all of Jim Magus's early stuff (you've got to remember that Midnight in The Dark Museum is the first new release from Jim in 10 years.) Then for real background on doing seance or ghost hunts as I usually refer to them, Mediums of the 19th Century (Vol 1 & 2) by Podmore. Lary/TEB3/Traveler |
