I was just wondering, it seems to me that so many of the posts come from "working magicians." Is it possible to find out how many non-professional magicians actually visit the Café. By this I do not mean amature skilled but rather, magicians who do not get paid for their magic. Many of us (myself included) love to perform but we are not doing it for a living so our approach may be diffrent (less emphasis on the making moneygetting jobs etc.) I am a teacher and my audience is therefore a captive one. I wouldn't be surprised if my patterpresentation or overall performance was quite diffrent than that of the working professional. I would love to be able to identify these diffrences and see posts from this perspective as well.

Your audience is different, so obviously your patter would be different. Just as a restaurant magician's patter would be different from someone who does it for church events, company gatherings or trade shows. The patter is made to suit the occasion.
As for me, I am an amateur magician who does this because it's fun and makes me and others happy. Some day, I hope to go pro, but that's another matter for another time.
