Greg Wilson's Quicksilver is a good two coin routine to do - nothing extra, no gimmick, stand up only.

I'd suggest Jay Sankey's "no jacket required" in his Revolutionary Coin Magic. It involves 4 coins vanish from your hands and go to your pocket.
If my memory serve me right it requires you to start from taking out coins from your pockets, and eventually taking the coins out from your pants pocket. But then I believe one can incorporate with other routines. The idea of coins not just jump from hand to hand but also from hand to pocket is nice, IMHO.
It only takes a minute to learn how it is done, but takes a lifetime to learn how to do it.

I love doing Doug Brewer's "The Famous Three Coin Trick"... I also do stuff such as 3/4 Across, some little effects involving one coin and a duplicate (Roth's Exhibition Coin Across, Coin Through Pocket, Quicksilver, Coin Through Hand, etc.)
Endless possibilities... Phedon

Oh and to answer your original question, produce a jumbo coin! |

Three fly III, maybe a spellbound with a signed coin. One coin flurry. 2 in my hand one in my pocket (As What previously stated)
A quick misers dream. Or work on my presentation and do an hours worth of the coin roll.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

Has anyone tried 'Coins and Hankercheif' from 'The Classic Magic of Larry Jennings'? This is a terrific walk around item! Alright, so it uses one 'extra' (hanky). Also a chinese coin. Ok, so that's two extras. So that's what I'd use with four coins and nothing else.

For a long time I did Roth's version of Hanging Coins. Great construction!
Actually I still do it. I have gotten some nice ideas from Kainoa. At the moment I'm working on my own version using three coins and hanging one right, one left and one in the middle. |

Slapping for Compliments (not that Mr Harbottle needs anymore... I remember the good old days when his stuff was underground, at least in the UK it still is )

I would do what I'm working on right now......I start with my own routine I'm calling "turn about is fair play", which is a four coin vanish in one hand, which uses the edge flip steal. (It took me a long time to be able to do the edge flip steal to edge grip with dollars so I'm wearing it out). Half way through I do another of my own routine I'm calling "two fly". I finish "turn about" which ends with the production of the four dollars after the last two vanish. I then do the hanging coins which is based on Kainoa Harbottle versions. Taking Kainoa's lead after hanging three coins I then do his "Flurious Four". After that I hang the last coin. I then do a hand wash and produce the four coins.
After that it changes. Sometimes I'll do Sankey's "mass consumption" then I'll "put a coin up" and do three fly, then leave the forth coin palmed in the left, show the three in right and do "no jacket required". Sometimes some old fashioned coins across or my version Or Sankey's "mr clean coins across".

Just a question for you guys that you do Hanging Coins.
Do you have any problem at the angles? I love the trick, but I want to know if it's effective on audience. I've seen the explanation on the angles, I guess the only way to do it is at eye level at close up. Any spectator not being at eye level would see the coins. That's my question, as I want to know if it's effective to public. I've seen Kainoa's book on Edge Grip, and has some very nice improvements, and his version of Hanging Coins is really good. I think I'll apply some of his techniques into the routine, such as his Retention Vanish which is very good. Thanks, take care Antonio |

The angles are good with edge grip. However, you may not always be able to turn your hand around palm to spec., but you don't need to. Because of the grip the Spec is already seeing both sides of the hand.
I was working around the house with my father in law, we took a break and I started flipping a fan of coins into edge grip and he said show me the back, grabbed my hand and turned it around and never saw a coin.

That's great Wes! It means your father in law was just guessing, but he really didn't know what he was looking for. That is what I love about edge grip work.....
Where I go, so do my coins.....
