Does Vanishing Bandana/Banana play well for an audience of all adults?

Didn't Copperfield do this? It depends on your character and personality.

Well, yeah, Copperfield did it, on TV where I'm sure more than just adults were watching.
Would you do for Adults? Edd

I actually think this effect plays better for adults or a mixed audience than it does for kids. Children have a tendancy to miss the humor - and spend half the routine shouting at you that you're supposed to be using a bandana instead of a banana.

I personally find it hilarious. It is absurd. It's very "Steve Martin"-like. I agree with Lyndel, there is subtle humour in it that children won't get.

Will this play well for adults? Absolutely!!!
Children would laugh at a banana being squished, etc...but adults are the ones who would actually "get it." Mark. |

I use this effect in my show all of the time. I do use a lot of facial expressions as the instructions are given. I really play up the part and run to someone to wipe their face on the bandana (bannana) I never really do wipe their face, I do get a lot of laughs when this part is put into play.

This has got to be the easiest 'out-of-the-box' comedy routine ever. It's one of the most talked about items I do.

I do this routine in every show I do. Especially adult shows. I use the version put out by magic enhancer and they did a great job with the tracks It is a great 7 minute routine and the audience absolutely loves it. I had a show the other night and a guy came up to me after the show and commented on that routine. He stated he was laughing so hard he had tears! However, this routine depends a lot on showmanship and your acting abilities to play it up!

I do if for kids and adults. I just changed up the routine a bit for kids so that it plays better and so that they underatand the notion that I have gotten it wrong.

It is a great routine...personally I think there is so much more comedy that can be added to the soundtrack, so I reccomend writing your own script to get some more out of the routine and then have it recorded by somebody you may know.

It works for both IF YOU can put into it what it deserves. I do it in most of my shows, both for kids and adults, and I ALWAYS have them in stitches. I have yet to see anyone else fold and squeeze the bannana to the point I do and have the stuff just oozing out from between the fingers. Add in the right facial expressions, the right body movements and body languagee and it kills. Too many I have seen just go through the motions and really don't put anything into it and are afraid to make a mess. There in lies the secret. More mess, more goo, more laughs.
