Hi,
I wonder if anyone knows a silk manufacturer who could make me 1 or 2 silks with words in my language. These silks could be used for example at the end of the show to say that the show itself is finished ( like the typical bunny with the flag "the end") BTW my language is italian Thanks/Fabio |

I imagine that Tim Sonefelt http://www.wonderimagery.com or Richard Hughes http://www.hughesmagic.com could do that for you. Both are excellent craftsmen.

Fabio,
You know that you can customize any real silk with Sharpie pens? (I use some in my shows!) Adding The End, Good Bye, etc. in another language is something you can do yourself. It will have two languages instead of just one. Or you can create your own. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Bob's right! I've "customized" silks before. The best way is one of those broad-tip permanent markers and a good stencil. You can get great stencils at any craft store, then just lay them out, making sure the silk is flat, but not stretched! Anyway, it works very well for custom lettering, just make sure you let it dry before wadding it up! Good luck!

If you are careful, you can use an embroidery ring to hold the silk while you perform your felt-tip artwork. This makes it easier to draw on. Plus it won't tend to bleed.
However, if you aren't careful, you can also put a "run" in the silk by doing this.

(You could even use a soft brush or airbrush.) Pushing harder does not make the Sharpie release more ink. Moving the pen makes the ink flow. Use a soft touch. It's not a tattoo. Take your time. I have one that is still in use and 28 years old. Good luck! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |
