For those who have asked about seriously studying comedy, often comedy writing classes are offered by local writing schools, like the Loft in Minneapolis.

Second City in Chicago has a whole program for comedy writing. I'm saving my money.

Also try to find some improvisational theatre workshops

Good book -- its one of just a few that I reccomend. Aimed mostly at stand-ups, but worth studying.
