My favorite has to be James Michael. You probably haven't heard of him but I think he is the funniest person ever.

My list, in a strict random order Smile

Aldo Colombini
Simon Lovell
Jay Sankey
Juan Tamariz (if my list wasn't in random order I would put him first)
Paul Daniels (I don't see him in the lists but as if my memory serves me well, I've laughed many times because of him)
Topper Martin (first time I saw him do the rope routine singing "My way" I just couldn't stop laughing)
The Great Thompsoni (Sp.)
Jay Marshall (unfortunately I have only seen his "rabbit puppet" act and it is hilarious)

I have no clue what his real name is, but he uses the stage name of Sylvester the Jester. Great routine, like a real life cartoon, as he called it. I remember at one point he took a towel, and ran it through his head via his ears WHILE turning 360 degrees around. Great stuff.

After reading this all again, I've decided that Mullica and Williamson win.

so where can one see these magicians magish and grind their own pixie dust and stuff like that.

lectures
conventions
magic castle.

is that it?

Forgot Jonny Lonn.
I laugh every time I see him even if it is the same act.

There is no doubt in my mind that Jay Sankey is the funniest magician and stand up comic today and his buddy Ole' pal David Acer is the runner up. I think I saw that Geoff Williams one of the members on this site saw them perform together... I also saw them give a lecture together at Magic Mikes Sorcerers Summer Safari, Canadas magic camp for young magicians (shameless plug for a great magic camp) but needless to say everyone was glad they brought a change of pants cause they were that funny. Smile
I m actually giggling wildly at the thought of their crazyness Smile Smile Smile

Ok,
I think most of us agree about Harry Anderson, Penn and Teller and Amazing Jonathan. However, through all of the posts I did not hear mention of Dave Cresey. I just attended his lecture last month and to see him live; I thought he was hilarious.

Just my two cents.

My vote goes to Juan Tamariz - even with broken English he makes me laugh so hard I cry.
But not far behind are David Williamson, Sankey and Malone. However, that's a different kind of humor if one can say that...

These are all really great selections.

I saw Mac King in a comedy club years ago. He blew everyone away when he crushed his head in a paper bag!

I find almost all of the names mentioned very funny. I am a little surprised that no one mentioned Billy McComb. Am I the only one who finds him hysterical?

Best,

Dan-

2. Mac King

3. Harry Anderson

That's it for now.

I am disappointed. I have read this entire thread, and did not see Abb Dickson or Karrel Fox on here anywhere. But, just so I sound normal, Mac King is great too.

A question was raised earlier on U.K. comedy magicians. The current comedy star is John Archer. If you get a chance to see him, take it, he really is very good.
