Kaliix,
As a teacher I can expect at times to see immaturity and rudeness in a child. That is because they haven't learned proper respect and etiquette. I expect more maturity from the adults here on the Café. I took offense to what DannyDoyle said in several of his posts. We all are bothered by different things. So I am trying to let this one go. I would really like it if we could just try to stick to the question I originally posted and not worry anymore about who is right or wrong. Since the debate is an issue based on opinions and perceptions I don't see any of us proving ourselves to be right. Thanks. -Paul

I will say this and stop. I thank those who defended me, although it caused some more problems.
See half of my posts are telling people just to read what is written and NOT INTO WHAT IS WRITTEN. An assumption was made about tone and that was not correct. An assumption was made about arrogance, and this yet again was not correct. You then used those 2 false assumptions to prove a further conclusion, that yet again turns out was not correct. What is correct is this. I can be rather blunt. I feel that the coddeling of people as adults trying to learn a quite demanding craft is not as usefull as many may think. The problem is that I tend to think in end results and the very idea of ignoring iinformation simply baised on its presentation is silly. It is not a point that may be proven, and since I don't suffer from it I don't particularly care. If you could please post to me the part that was rude I would appreciate it. I don't mean post what was read into it, but the part that was difinitivly rude. THAT is the problem I have. You may not like a blunt style, but nowhere is it written that such a style is actually considered rude. You may be offended by it, you may not like or enjoy it, but indeed it just is. I did not belittle you, and say, "hey stupid do this" So maybe a little introspection is worth doing on all parts. Just a thought.

"I guess it just does not matter to me how you read into it." Here are two examples of your rudeness: #1 The quote above. I don't know how to read that other than rude. #2 Your inability to respect my request to PM me and stop debating publicly which is another example of how you are rude. Go ahead Danny, post your replies. I am done playing your bickering games. I will not address you in this thread again. You obviously get off on arguing on the Café. You seem to get off by trying to get in the last word. But for me I wish you would just get off of this thread. Good bye Danny.

You say that and still post LOL.
Neither example is really that rude, I simply was actually addressing those who came to my defence, maybe trying to open your eyes a bit. Oops, maybe THAT was rude, who knows? Funny though, it is not only my replies, that contradict you, but it is me you address. Hmmmm.

So you admit you were rude, it is now a discussion of just how rude you were. |

Chichi, There were no words put anywhere execept where they belong, that post was a simple statment of fact with no emotion tied to it. It did reveal that Danny realized his post, to some degree, contain rude statements. My conclusion is that he feels a certain amount of rude behavior is acceptable.

Paso:You got a wealth of good information from several experienced performers, and yet you ask for MORE.Sometimes you should be thank-ful for what you have received and move on.
You,through this Café have received far more information than probably any experienced performers received at this point in their career[that definitely includes me]. Best. Rich |

PaleoMagi,
I have received a lot of great advice on the Café and this thread and I am thankful. When I asked if there was anymore I was hoping the answer would be no. I am ready for this thread to be over since other than Kaliix this entire second page has been nothing but bickering. There was a lot of helpful info on the first page of this thread. I appreciate all who helped but I am ready to let it rest. Thanks. -Paul

Another thing you can do for the repeat customers is teach them some magic. Within reason of course. You are not doing to be teaching them a double lift or give them a thumbtip. Perform it for them first then teach them.
Here is one I usually teach. Effect two cards are placed into the deck. the magician claims he has the fastes hands in the world as he steals them out. 1.Take out the 4 of clubs and 8 of spades (pair one) 2.Then take out the 8 of clubs and then 4 of spades (pair two) 3.Take one of the card frompairone and place it on the top of the deck and the other one on the bottom of the deck. 4.Display pair two but do not call attention to the suits, then very fairly slide both cards into the middle of the deck. 5.Next hold the deck like you would a sandwich. Loosen your grip and toss the deck to the other hand. The top and bottom cards (pair two) should stick to your fingers. Only do this for long term repeat customers. And obviousl do not give away any big secrets. ~Adam Michael |

You know I wasn't gonna respond, because I thought we had let this go. But...
Derrick, it was over, finished, done and you had to bring it back. No point in that in that at all. In doing so, you are continuing to rail against Danny for some reasons I don't quite understand. Whilst you seem to detest rudeness, your quote below and some of your other comments are fine examples of exactly what it is that you are protesting against. Individuals who are gracious, well mannered, considerate and respectful towards others (to use your own posted definition) would not call out another in the manner in which you did. I suggest you take an introspective look at you own behavior and let this drop. Quote: On 2007-03-08 22:07, derrick wrote:

Sometimes you have to realize that some people just don't get it. Consider it dropped.
