Here's a foodle for your thoughts.
And I'd like input from each and everyone of you. that means you, who's just glancing I've just gone through about a dozen videos of various things...from the early '80s to 2002... Plus two canisters of 16mm film that I'm planning to have transfered from the 1970's. This includes magic and some piano performances. Personally, I want to archive everything. I know I like to watch different performances of the same thing by the same person because each time its a bit different. Something new is added in and so forth. However, as a viewer, would you want to see almost the exact same show done... different years, maybe a slightly different way a few times? There's a (small) possiblity I might want to put a family archival DVD out... I have had a few people make mention of it to me, but don't hold your breath. I know several people learn from watching my dad, in person and on the video. Personally, I like the memories... SPEAK!

I don't know enough about your family to appreciate the piano work so maybe some of the shows and special feature of a piano piece?
Hey, so I like corn. Be nice. :)

I honestly don't know the answer regarding music. It depends on the music and my mood. In any event, if you put it out, I'd purchase it. I have some of your CD's already and I like them a great deal.
I was a fan of your Dad, so I'd really like to see him perform again. I do like seeing the evolution of a magic performance. I'm not sure a layman would be interested in seeing a similar performance over and over again, but as a magician I pay attention to details and I like seeing acts evolve. Oink!
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

Thanks Bill...
You are so supportive! and I appreciate that very much. Musically and Magically. In a recent conversation with my friend, who is finishing up a book and going to dive back into a previous project mentioned this idea to me. He needs to interview my dad for the other book project, but he also want to write one on him. So he brought up the companion DVD idea. As far as the music, its various performances and awkwardness of me performing real classical piano music. You think I got crazy fingers now... you can see what I was like at age 16! :)

Well I like playing with a deck while listening to Scott Joplin piano rags but it would be great to see some magic and some piano performances.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

The magic and piano performances would be separated.
Unless of course the piano performances were part of the 'show.' Thanks for your input tommy.

If you had access to some good editing software, you could take multiple performances done at different points in time and merge snippets of each into a single "performance". Thus you could show a magic trick that's started by you when you were 10 years old (for example), the middle is performed by you at 16, and ends with you at 19. (All ages are estimate, actual mileage may vary ;-)

I was also thinking you could split/screen so your piano performance provides the music for your magical one.

There is one reel I'm having transfered that has no sound, and I'm planning to score original music to it. I know one section is my father doing his magic act in his Okito costume then he takes the robe off and then starts fly casting. This takes place at a sports show. Something so rare, never done before... and this hasn't been seen in at least 30 years.
