I get paid By check monthly. This is great because it comes right when my rent does.
I would also like to say Cash or check the IRS will find you. If a restaurant (chain) is paying you cash they have to file hat money as going somewhere (ie Entertainment). The IRS will see that the restaurant is spending so much money on entertainment, and it is not hard for them to find out what that entertainment is. Very small family owned restaurants you could get away with. ~Adam Michael |

I get a 50% deposit to hold the date and the rest following the performace. Prefer cash, but it all spends the same.
BTW Declare everthing. You can't get a good $100,000 loan if you only make $20,000 per year. joe |

Depends on what kind of restaurant, when I worked at TGIF it was on the books but the privately owned places around me just paid me cash after each night. I would suggest go to a family owned restaurant, they are easier to get into and easier to keep working with. TGIF there are too many overhead people so even though the GM may love and the customers come to see YOU the district manager may still pull the plug on you at anytime, it happened to me.

Cash at some, checks at others.
The man takes enough of my money at my day job. I make enough there to get any loan I want. I report everything at the restaurant except for tips because "I don't solicit them". Private gigs? that's a whole other story...I plead the 5th... |

You have a day job?
That helps HUGE with getting loans. Banks love those. Stability and all. Good plan.

Yes Danny, full time sales job, 3 restaurants and a bunch of private gigs. But no wife and kids!!!! I can't believe I have time to come on here. That is what I love about sales. When there are no customers roaming the lot and you have done all your follow up, you have free time!!!

The only difference is they are allowed to be dishonest, and they can shoot at me for being the same way. I work a FT regular job as well and get to do this on the side. They get plenty from me on my other job so I keep this cash as a bonus. May not be the right thing to do, but let us not throw stones. |

I give all my money to the IRS and they mail me back a small check to live on.
Mediocrity is greatly under rated!

I am on the payroll at Red Robin. At my private gigs, I get paid cash, unless it is for a large company, then they pay me in check.
I don't believe that a family that hires me for a birthday party is going to be filing that money with the IRS at Entertainment. Therefore, I'm pretty safe. As already stated though, they (being the IRS) already screws me enough to support only god knows what. Best, Steve |

A fine justification. Only Jesus can decide what is right or wrong LOL.
Jeff, I am with ya brother. The question is not about Jeff now is it? LOL. Do what yo will, but when you admit that you do things wrong, don't go justify your horrible behavior with telling us "everyone does it", and "you do things wrong too". Please.

Danny,
Who said "everyone does it"? You are making up things now and pretending they are quotes! If you are going to quote someone then quote them (there is a button for that). And don't walk around high and mighty judging everyone. PM me your home address and I will come spend a day with you, I will listen to your words, search your computer, ask your relatives about your history, talk to your co-workers, etc. When I find you as "Jesus", I will sin no more. |

Right, bad behavior justified by "your not perfect" LOL.
Sorry but after about 4th grade, a non issue. Stop making childish arguements. Jeff was right. Period. Let it go.

For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...
I love all the high and mighty ones here! You make me laugh. You are all perfect do-gooders and I am not worthy of posting in your chat room. You wallow in your own inequities but love pointing your FLASHLIGHT OF BLAME at others! Christopher, typically a Godly man should not say "Good", about people not believing in God. And as far as the IRS being your 2nd parents? I don't even know what that means or where you get that. I have said enough. This post must have just been for you saints, not me! |

Look I've done a ton of things I may not be proud of. I am far from faultless. But there is a massive difference between making bad judgment calls in a moment and planning to do something over and over that you know is wrong.
I'm assuming from your name that your life experiance is pretty short. One day you'll either realise it's better to be part of society and contribute or you won't. In my experiance people who don't live some pretty sad lives. good luck |

Good advice Jeff. And the sooner he learns, the better off he'll be (and richer, otherwise Uncle Sam will be knocking at his door one day to auction off his house, car, furniture, etc. due to tax evasion! lol..).
Best, Steve P.S. Jeff, I love your new avatar picture! |
