Is there an IBM ring near Bamberg, Germany? If not, what is the closest ring to Bamberg. Thanks so much!
Autumn
Wonder is very necessary in life. When we're little kids, we're filled with wonder for the world - it's fascinating and miraculous. A lot of people lose that. They become cynical and jaded, especially in modern day society. Magic renews that wonder.

Thanks, mrunge!
I have been to the meeting in Backnang. Great people! You would be very, VERY impressed with their ring! (It is a long way from my house, a nearly two-hour drive on the Autobahn, and considering I can drive over 100 mph, THAT is a ways out.) These guys have a gorgeous custom theater right in the building! They rent or own the entire building for the sole purpose of magic! There are many women in this club. Most of the people speak German only, but Michael Holderried (President) speaks good English. I can speak German, so that is not much of a problem. I originally met him at the IBM convention in Cleveland. They actually made me show my IBM card before I could attend the "explanation portion" of the meeting. They will not let people join IBM until they have been through one year of training in their club! Now THAT is a standard to meet! They have one real character who wears Lederhosen, suspenders, and the whole German ethnic outfit. This man does a Three-Card Monte routine that is so funny. He does it again and again with differently themed Three-Card Monte sets. The themes are all German: Oktoberfest, German Beer mugs, pretzels, etc. Like I said, he is a real character! I would love to do an article for The Linking Ring about this club, if you would be interested. I am a good writer and they really deserve some attention. Let me know. In the meantime, I will try and visit the other club in Roth. This one is very close to Bamberg, only 23 Kilometers away (about 19 miles). Thanks for all the information! Thanks, Autumn
