A boiled egg can be eaten. How about that for a change?

I haven't started working on this yet, but it would seem to me that the visual of an egg being cracked and the yolk plopping into a glass beats the visual of spending 3 minutes peeling a hard boiled egg and eating it.

Aussiemagic,
I do agree that cracking the real egg is hard to top. That is why I have done that when I can over the last half century. The trick is centuries old. There are times when using a real egg is not possible. That is why this topic is about Silk to Egg specifically for Table Hoppers and Party Strollers. So are the props and routine I offered after performing it for thirty-five years. (The same props can be used for the Sucker Silk to Egg. Add a real egg. Stickers and matching silks are enclosed with the props.) Magi-Whirl 2007 (April 13-14) was the first time I had ever offered it on the market. It was a total sell-out as were the brown props for Sucker Silk to Egg. Dealer orders, except for: Top Hat Magic Supply 28 Sixth Street Bristol, TN 37620 Phone - 423-968-3200 E-mail - tophatmagicsupply@gmail.com Web - http://www.tophatmagicsupply.com have been backordered. We actually ran out of 18" silks in green and blue to go with the sets. (And I'm the magicians' silk importer! We have an emergency air shipment coming from China but we will not be shipping to retailers for couple of weeks.) Suggested retail is $60 for the Walk-Around version (with an extra egg and my instructions) and $45 for the props for the standard Sucker Silk to Egg. Both come with two 18" DoveLite silks in red and green or blue and yellow. All are available with white or brown ceramic eggs. Top Hat may give you a better deal. ASK! Enjoy! Hello all,
you can get some great white or brown ceramic eggs at Cracker Barrel for 99cents each. Last time I was there I bought 4 of each. Have not broke them yet and I've dropped them afew times! They are about the size of a large egg, so I imagine they would be a bit big if you compare them with a fake egg from the effect, but remember no one sees both eggs side by side at the same time, so they should work fine! (Disclamer - No offense ment to Bob Sanders or his products. If you want the effect props routine and all- purchase from Bob. The Cracker Barrel eggs are just a cheap source for ceramic eggs)

Will slush powder work on raw egg? I would test this myself but I don't have any slush powder.
Thanks RJ |

Hi all - a rare post from me.
I recently ordered a couple of Bob Sander's eggs and have been mightily impressed. I used to use a tirofog egg, but because of the almost complete absence of white eggs in the UK nowadays, ended up having to buy normal brown eggs and paint them white to match. And since they go off after a short while, it was a bit of a never ending task. So I ordered Bob's brown eggs primarily because of their colour. Now I have them, I wouldn't switch back for the world. Bob's eggs are much more solid than the tirofog ones. They're still light, but feel much less fragile. My tirofog egg had developed a hairline fracture and I was worried it would eventually fall apart; but Bob's brown eggs feel much more robust. They also seem rather more resistant to discolouration. Every now and then my tirofog egg would go a bit pink through use. They cleaned up with a bit of gentle soap & water - but not perfectly. Bob's egg's don't suffer the same problem. And, of course, the brown colour is really realistic. They basically look & feel real. Ian PS nope - Bob's not bribing me either - these are the real deal and I'm not afraid to say so! |

Thanks Ian!
The pros often use products that never get advertised. (Guess why?) We have only had these available to the magicians since 2007. We have stocked out four times! They are in brown and white eggs and the colors sell about equally well. European magicians are really consuming the brown ones. But the pros in the USA are also getting some browns and using them just to vanish 18" silks without exposing the egg to the audience. They don't flash and they are simply easier to handle than other gimmicks. One pro in the USA bought 32 of these eggs at one time. I don't think he plans to ever be out of them! These were originally made just for me. I gave up trying to use eggs of any material with holes too small for an adult male thumb. Of course, to me the ceramic has always been the best looking egg of all for forty years. They were just not available with the hole that was needed. (And getting good things in the USA from China was a hassle.) Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Hey Bob,
I don't suppose you will have any of these when you pull through Little Rock in September? Derrick |

I've always felt this was BETTER as a stand-up thing esp. Jim Scott's "Confused Magician" Routine.

The eggs come in both white and brown and props for both the standard Silk to Egg trick and my Walk-Around Silk to Egg trick (that resets itself for walk-around). (Yes, they match Tyson's eggs!) Remind me and I'll show what no magician can believe while I'm there too. That is vanishing a 36" silk in an egg. I'm looking forward to seeing the folks there. Magic in the Ozarks has been a big part of my life. It was my home for several years. Usually I am at the Cavalcade of Magic in March but it has been over twenty years since I was there in the fall.
