Does anyone have a source for those thick walled McDonald's straws? I want to do Mike Close's routine from his video, and am looking for thick straws that come in wrappers.
Yes, I know...I could just grab a handful each time I'm at McDonald's, but I'd rather find some other way. |

I would suggest the latter. LOL... just ask McDonalds if you can buy a bunch. If not, just take what they got lol

Go into McDonalds and ask the manager if you can buy a box.

While I generally don't support this sort of thing, I would say pocketing a bunch everytime you go to McDonald's is certainly one way to go. Reading "Fast Food Nation" to see how much McDonald's cares about workers (both their own and in the meat industry) should relieve you of any qualms about filching a few straws. You could spread this around to the dozen McDonalds I'm sure are within a 15 minute drive of where you are.
Barring that, try restaurant supply outlets. |

I don't think I've ever gone to a McDonalds and they got my order right. I hate the place! The worst part is that they act like it's no big deal.
I can't believe that I'm the only one who this happens too so I wouldn't have a problem snatching a few dozen - or a few hundred - straws from them. You shouldn't either! They owe us at least that much! Take all you want!

I don't know guys, MacDonald's has gotten much worse of late, but I'm not sure it justifies your suggestions. Then again, I'm really not one to talk so I guess whatever feels right for you.

My comment was made in jest. I surely don't advocate stealing from anyone and I commend Ron for searching out a way to purchase the straws instead of taking them!

This is an easy one. Go to the counter and say excuse me how much are the straws. They will reply free. You then fill your bag and do the same for burger king

Good one Alex!
I hate McDonalds, as the food is awful and I can't stand the mass of strange sause and stale lettuce that comes with the hamburgers. |

Because ones service and product are bad is not an excuse to steal, to take it to the next level say my mother made horrible meatloaf and she does) and she serves it with a side of gripe, does that give one a RIGHT to go in and steal from her... It does not matter if it is one straw or a Penny from the register, it is stealing...to put it closer to heart, if you do a bad trick with an attitude does someone have the right to steal your cards...I don't think so...try this approach offer your services on kids night( maybe an hour) in exchange for a box of straws( they may be expensive straws but the exposer might be worth it) or coupons (WILL WORK FOR STRAWS?), you might pick up a few tips, and a gig or two ...not to mention you might just end up working for McDonalds....

nums. er hello. it is not stealing is it? if so how much r they. please lets be honest we are only talking about maybe 200 straws. mac donalds don't seem to care that every other kid picks one up so they can spit bits of paper through them at you. u may change your views on this issue when u see something moving in your food or you have to shell out a lot of money for damage the stone in the fries did on your teeth.

Alex, as former food place owner one straw or even 200 is not really a lot but, take 20 straws times the number af magicians and that is a lot.. we used to give people (those who did not buy anything from us) a straw, napkin, paper plate and maybe a little mayonaise for a sandwich brought from home for free... then we stopped giving out those items that are not that much and the end result was about 250-300 extra dollars in our pockets at the end of the month...now there are roughly 10000 macdonalds in the good old USA and if you take even a rate of $10.00 per macdonalds times the 10000 you get a negitive $100,000.00 per month in those little "free" straws. McD's is not a straw depot, go buy them or do not do the trick or since they a just a few Pennys apiece give everbody your address and you can ship them out for free to all who want them... NUMS |

Here's a way of justifying it. And please, this is (mostly) a joke.
The mother of a friend of mine use to take two packets of sugar from restaurants every time she had a cup of coffee. She didn't use sugar in her coffee, but figured she was due that, as the restaurant expected her put a couple in her cup. Therefor, she reasoned, she was simply taking what she was due. (This is a true story.) So go in McDonald's, and give a quick look at how many people are eating but don't have straws. Take that many. Even better, since people throw them away after, you could always root through the garbage, take them home, and soak them in a bowl of very hot soapy water a couple of times. This way, you are not stealing, but giving trash a second life. |
