I found these barried in a deep Youtube Archive....well not really...Just did a search for magic and it came up. PLEASE ENJOY these videos of steve martin performing magic:

This one has many gags and a zombie ball routine at the end.

This one is truely amazing and utterly amazing. It had me stumped at first but its rather smart if you ask me.

I like the second magician better. I did not catch on until the puppet came.

I agree, Flydini is rather amazing, but you can't post one and not the other.

It is really cool to know that Steve Martin loves magic and did magic long before he got into comedy.

I believe Steve Martin's hair color was the most magical thing in those videos. Smile

The second video had me laughing too hard. The roses bit was too funny.

Someone should do a spoof of that at a magic convention!

I've always really liked Steve Martin, now a have an greater respect for him. That was great! I'm a fairly young guy and I miss Carson. Carson was quite a magic aficionado and helped garner respect for our art as well as help it develop comedically. Even though Letterman occasionally has his magician buddy appear he would rather make a mockery of a magician for a laugh rather than debut a good comedic magician. Unfortunately for Letterman his insecurities and fear of being upstaged preempt him from bringing on any truly funny magicians. Magic is not the only area of entertainment that could use a shot in the arm these days.
I totally love the originally in Steve Martin's act there but I'm not sure that the public today wouldn't fault it for political incorrectness. These days doing a puppet show in your pants would have you having to register as a sex offender. Man that act made me nostalgic for less paranoid times.
