Is there is a difference in the Newspaper Tear on the 2 Anderson DVD's ... (one is strictly devoted to the tear, the other is his lecture.) I'm primarily interested in learning the tear. I have his book and I just can't follow it.

The Greater Magic #37 was authorized by him. Later, the T&R Newspaper was created contains the exact routine (and only that routine) from the previous DVD for nearly the same price.
You would be much better off getting the Greater Magic #37 one. You will get some extra effects with newspaper as well as his version of the die box, picto transpo, and son of morning (all with explanations). You also get an interview. |

According to Gene, he never got any more money for the T&R DVD, which seems unfair to me. They just took part of the video he made, and released it as the T&R, without compensating him any further (the same goes for the "Die Box Teach-In" DVD). The "Greater Magic Video Library" does not give any more money to the magicians they feature - they got paid once and that is it. Many of those magicians involved in the Greater Magic series would never have agreed to be included, even if asked - which they weren't. Get the Greater Magic #37, as mentioned above - that is the only "authorized" video he has released, and it contains a lot more material, such as his "Part-Time Pro" lecture.
Never criticize someone else until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away from them and you will have their shoes.
