All,

I just finished making my Greed bill and I am really enjoying the routine. I recommend this to the strolling magicians for a few reasons. First, it is something that everyone can relate with (money) so they don't think that it is gimmicked at all. Secondly, it has a very quick reset. Thirdly, it has a very entertaining and logical routine. Finally, it is very durable and fits in your wallet. Just my review of GREED.

Does anyone have any ideas for another method for switching the bill and the coin? Thanks.

I use it all the time. Danny gives you two (or is it three) methods to make the switch on the DVD. What don't you like about the snap change?

I think the easiest method is the finger palm. I also like the snap change.

I use the same move that is taught in Richard Sander's Visibill. It looks the same as the snap change but the angles are better.

Can this effect be done with any bill. Some money tricks cannot be done with canadian bills because of the colour difference. How about Greed?

Thought I would give this another shot.

I am interested in the idea but want to know if I could make the gimmick without resorting to American bills.

As long as the currency is the same size 2 out of 3 transformations are possible. One change you would need the bills to be the same color (the 10 to 20)

Thanx tpax,
Canadian bills are very similar in size to American. Maybe a little trimming will be needed. 2/3 changes is still pretty good, I think I'll just have to pick it up and find out...

I use the shuttle pass because for some reason I can't clear the bill out of the visual range cleanly using the snap change.

One problem I've had with the bill though is one of the creases. (looking at the face of the bill) the vertical short crease on the left side of the bill tends to get kind of embossed for reasons obvious to those who have made one, and flattening it out tends to smear the ink and make the bill look strange. Has anyone else had this problem?

Greed is a fantastic effect, and arguably the best routine out with paper money at the moment.

I do Greed every day.. I am a bartender that does magic and flair... the way I do a switch/ and patter....

when I get a dollar as a tip, or even ask for a dollar.. I take it and fold it so that there are creases in the bill, similar to the ones in my greed bill.. I tell them to "watch close" as I am going to make this dollar vansish... I act like I am doing something speical and I fold it lengthwise and put it in my pocket then pull out greed... as the 1/2 dollar I just tuck it under my belt.. works good

My patter: I do somethign like I'm going to give your dollar and you will buy everyone breakfast ... even me.. and so on..

I love Greed and it is one of the few effects that I ALWAYS have on me. The patter I use is basically I will ask if they want to see what I do when Im broke. When they say yes I ask if I can borrow a dollar. This will get a cheap laugh. Then I take their dollar, fold it and put it in my pocket(switch with greed) and act like I'm done. At this point I will look up and say what? When Im broke I borrow money? Another cheap laugh. Then I pull out 'their' bill and perform greed while pattering about how a dollar wont get me too far but," a five would be better!" and so on. Gets great reactions!
