I am looking for some kind of box for a bill-in-lemon effect. It could be a single locked box, or a nest of boxes. The box would need to be big enough to hold a good-sized lemon, fast to load, and examinable (once loaded). It is my intention to have an audience member hold the box then open it at the end of the show to reveal the lemon. Any suggestions?
Thanks! Flimnar

Maybe a mini-tip trunk of sorts; with strong rare earth magnet locks... I've built box for a nest of boxes effect and it worked really well!

With all due respect, Flimnar, I think putting a lemon inside a box or nest of boxes is overkill. The lemon is a sort of "nest of boxes" in itself. It's already impossible for an object to end up inside a lemon in the first place, so putting it inside something else doesn't really prove anything.

Michael--
Thanks--good point. My primary concern is not to create a puzzle regarding how it got into a box. My main purpose is to "contain" the lemon while avoiding the sound of dropping it into a paper sack once it has been loaded and then handing it to an audience member. Other ideas? Thanks-- Flimnar

Cut a hole in the back of the sack!

....and hand it to an audience member to keep during the show.......? Still, I take your point. I am exploring a number of different possible solutions to muffle sound or find alternate holders for the lemon. But the idea of a box/nest of boxes seems easy and perfect if one of suitable size can be found.

Use Michael's suggestion...and place the smaller sack (with lemon and hole) into a larger sack and give that to the audience member to hold...

Thanks Julie--I suppose that would work. It eliminates the audience member tearing open the bag at the end of the show to reveal the contents, but maybe that is a small price for making this work. I can't imagine there isn't some box made that would suit my purpose.....

Flimnar... If you are interested, I'd be more than willing to construct such a box for you...

I also "don't get it." The better presentation is where the lemon is selected by a spectator from a basket of lemons. The lemon is tossed to you and you just cut it open to find the vanished bill inside. No boxes- no need. The lemon you "catch" isn't the same one the person threw. Works like a charm. You can even place the lemon on a cutting board and invite the spectator up to cut the lemon, if your insurance is all paid up.
