The Prestige seems to have a more international appeal.

Hard one, both are good, the Prestige is a lot more confusing at first then the Illusionist, and the Illusionist has some slow parts to it.
I will have to go with...

The Illusionist.

As a fairy tale with a happy ending... The Illusionist.
As an adult cautionary tale to inspire thinking... The Prestige.

BTW, I attended a showing of The Illusionist when it opened here in Westchester. The audience applauded at the end. At the showing of The Prestige... they left in almost palpable discomfort.

Current Tally is:
Prestige 6 - Illusionist 5

Thank you for your comments.

Doug,
I am truly sorry, I don't want to beat a dead horse but I didn't see any like this one. I will be more careful on the next post.

I have yet to see The Prestige, but I did not like The Illusionist at all. Just didn't do anything for me. I really don't see what all the hype is about. Am I the only one who feels this way??

PS - My vote goes to The Departed as the better film.

Patrick! I didn't mean it that way...I meant see the other 32 threads for why we said what we said and felt what we felt rather than have to repeat reasons...If I thought you had a dead horse I wouldn't have posted. Smile

Never be careful on your next post!!!! There's enough of that going on. Smile
