Hard one, both are good, the Prestige is a lot more confusing at first then the Illusionist, and the Illusionist has some slow parts to it.
I will have to go with... The Illusionist.

As a fairy tale with a happy ending... The Illusionist.
As an adult cautionary tale to inspire thinking... The Prestige. BTW, I attended a showing of The Illusionist when it opened here in Westchester. The audience applauded at the end. At the showing of The Prestige... they left in almost palpable discomfort.

I have yet to see The Prestige, but I did not like The Illusionist at all. Just didn't do anything for me. I really don't see what all the hype is about. Am I the only one who feels this way??
