So, what's your favorite magic movie and your favorite character?

Tony Curtis was great as Houdini.

Didn't see The Prestige, but I did see The Illusionist.
So there's my vote.

I liked it. =] I usually like the everthing-makes-sense-at-the-end movies. =]
There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Kregg,

I liked Harry Potter, the goblet of fire. The guy who plays Slitteren.

Come on people! At this rate I one of these films will get to 100 about the same time I get to 100 (years old that is).

I liked The Prestige better... mainly because the magic effects were more believable...

Some friends, a retired married couple with no particular interest in magic - they like theatre and cinema, told me last night they had seen both movies.

I asked them which they prefered.

'Neither really. The magic tricks weren't any good because they were so fake. We'd rather watch that Copperfield fella anyday.'

Prestige was more unerving, preferred it to The Illusionist. Pity as Edward Norton is my favorite actor, I think he was excellent just felt at times that the storyline was weak.

My vote is Illusionist. It had what felt like an authentic representation of how magic would have been like for the audiences of the time. Also, there was a real Robert-Houdin quality to it that I really liked.

Why? Do you have something against this post? I think that it is fun and I am getting the research that I need from the people who make magic magical. BTW - you never said which you prefer. Which one?
