First off, I want to say that I am a BIG TIME user of the Hundred Dollar Bill Switch for nearly 20 years. I have learned it from Michael Ammar's CLASSIC RENDITIONS (Vol. 3) VHS/DVD:
http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/classic-re......641.html I have seen many Thumb Tip versions of this technique all in live performances, in DVD form, in book form (including John Lovick's SWITCH book) and in Sankey's version on this DVD. I must say that to me, Ammar's version is the best out there. It is based on Mike Kozlowski's version, but Ammar has put in his finesse, including a neccessary overlap crease in the bill to aid in the unfolding. I highly recommend Ammar's teaching of this utility, if you are absolutely new to this area of magic. With that said, I am very pleased with Sankey's HUNDRED DOLLAR MIRACLES (HDM). It is complete with teaching HIS version (in a lot of detail) of the foldings, the actual switch, practicing the switch, borrowing bills, angles and audience management. The advertisement for HDM states however, that soon, this DVD is going to be called the "bible" for the bill switch. This is really one of the few things that I disagree with. This DVD does show different utilizations of the Bill switch (Tears, transpositions, changes, disappearances, apearances, etc.), but 30 effects is too little to be called the "bible" to a technique (although 30 is a lot for your money's worth in this DVD). The SWITCH book by Lovick includes tons of different versions of the Bill Switch (with and without the TT) in addition to over 60 routines/ideas using the Bill Switch. To me, that book is leaning more towards "THE BIBLE", which a few of Sankey's effects from this DVD are included in that book also. This DVD does hit on different aspects using the Bill switch and it, I believe, is the FIRST representation of 1 entire DVD consisting of both the actual Switch itself and ALL effects included utilizing this 1 technique.... FINALLY THERE IS!!!! So here is the rundown of the effects included: --------------------------- 1) REALIZATION - Vernon's Princess Card trick in a Bill Switch form. A mental selection of numerous cards on a piece of paper is physically produced from the magician's pocket as the REAL selected card. 2) DEAD CENTER - A 'Moving a hole' effect with a Bull's Eye Target. 3) STRANGE & STRANGER - A 'Torn & restored' (T&R) bill effect with the torn piece matching unexpectedly at a new area of the originally torn bill. 4) WRINKLES - Cute laundry chore effect for children. 5) REAL MAGIC - Signature materialises from front to back. 6) FOUND IN TRANSLATION - Card prediction in Greek language. 7) PUBLIC ASSEMBLY - T&R bill effect using a borrowed bill. 8) DYE JOB - Coloring book image magically gets colored. Great for children. 9) MOVINK - Misprinted magazine article gets corrected. 10) GENUINE COUNTERFEIT - 2 effects in 1: Blank paper changes to money, but also uses a T&R effect. 11) CROCODILE TEAR - T&R effect similiar to tearing a phone book (showing off your strength). 12) COLORIZED - 'Hot Rod' effect using a bill. 13) CASHING OUT - A 'Personal check to money' effect. 14) GELLER - A bending spoon effect using drawn pictures. 15) EYE WITNESS - A card effect where an eye disappears from a bill and appears on 3 selected cards, one at a time and is permanently on the last card. 16) TRIANGULATE - A cut out shape is moved from 1 side to another (cute gag), but then when done again, the shape appears at an impossible location. 17) SHIFT - A misprinted magazine picture is corrected. 18) DATING GAME - A borrowed coin and bill routine where the dates match. 19) STRONG MEDICINE - T&R bill effect where the piece torn is reproduced in a medicine container that the spectator was holding before borrowing the bill. The bill is then restored totally. 20) FLOWER POWER - A flowery aroma magically appears on a bill with a flower drawn on it. 21) MONOCHROME - Colored pattern of a piece of paper is rearranged. 22) DIGITAL - A predicted number from a series of mathematical equations from a randomly chosen 3-digit number magically appears on a piece of paper. 23) PROCESS OF ELIMINATION - A selected card from a deck appears from a bunch of cards on a piece of paper. 24) TRAVELING EXPENSES - A 'Moving a hole' effect where 4 holes move together to 1 area. A great presentation incorporating a "trick vs. a puzzle" idea. 25) PROMO PIECE - Change a money tip to a big "business card". Excellent to "flirt" with also. 26) FAN MAIL - Spectator's signature changes places with magician's signature. 27) COLLATERAL DAMAGE - A borrowed signed bill appears in a container that was in an envelope, which was in view before borrowing the bill. 28) DOTS WEIRD - Similiar effect to Sankey's card effect called SNOWSTORM, but using a borrowed bill. Many dots coalesce together to form a picture, word or selected card. 29) POP! - A drawn balloon on a paper, folded and then is "popped" (you actually HEAR the "POP"). When unfolded, the drawing has changed to the remnant of the popped balloon. The technique of the audible pop has potential to be used elsewhere also in other effects-- Use your brain on this one. 30) FACSMILE - A card effect where a sticker on a bill with words on it is magically changed to the name of the selected card. ------------------------------ My top 5 favorites (in no order) are: - DYE JOB - EYE WITNESS - TRIANGULATE - TRAVELING EXPENSES - POP! At least 4 (TRAVELING EXPENSES being one of these) of the 30 effects are re-released from other DVD's that Sankey produced-- No biggy. There are still a slew of other effects to take if you already knew those others. It is nice to see them added to 1 DVD about using the same technique. He does demostrate with Canadian Money most of the time, but again-- No biggy. Also, in many of the card effects in this DVD, Sankey teaches a number of card sleights as an added bonus. Overall, I am pleased with this DVD, if you can put aside Sankey crazy humor. Price is very good at $22.50 (with FREE shipping) from Penguin Magic or MJM Magic advertising that they would match or beat any price. The regular price is $30-- Still a bargain for the vast amount of material in it... A total of 118 minutes. This DVD is packed with gems that many would not even think about using the Bill Switch for-- Very Innovative as expected from Sankey. I bought this because I love the Bill Switch and Sankey's mind... NOT his "humor". I will give it a 7/10.... - 1 point deducted because I am partial to Ammar's technique - 1 point deducted for the misleading advertisement of it being called as a potential "bible" of the Bill switch - 1 point deducted due to Sankey's immature, crazy, unprofessional humor.

Salby, nice work on the review.
For the effect of this nature, I think Kevin King's Money Morph is a more visual switch. Sankey's "Fan Mail" which was on another DVD is a very good effect.

Yes-- That is why I think Lovick's Book, SWITCH, is more like a "bible" than this HDM.... Kevin King's MONEY MORPH is in the book along with many many other versions of the Bill Switch.
Please also keep in mind that ALL of the effects in this DVD utilize the TT version of the Bill Switch.... Can one utilize a "Tipless" technique? Some, but most need a TT for the effects in HDM. I believe any version of a TT technique can be used for all of the effects included in this DVD. Keep in mind that virtually all of the effects taught on this DVD utilize the Bill Switch to be done once. In other words, Sankey is not a true believer in changing a $1 to a $100 and then back to a $1. He rather do the 1 time effect and keep it "altered" as a $100. He doesn't state this in THIS DVD, but I have another DVD that he states this thought of his. So, again, all of the effects in this DVD are demostrated/explained using ONLY the TT version of the Bill Switch and changes the bill 1 time in each effect. (Sometimes it needs to stay concealed in the TT.) With that said, if you like to perform the JUAN HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL SWITCH (JHDBS), you probably can utilize it with this DVD since you can really perform that Bill Switch only "1 way".... It is flashy to perform in the blick of the eye. The only problem you may have is that most of the effects on HDM uses regular paper, NOT paper money. The paper might not be "soft" enough to utilize in the JHDBS... Experiment first.
