I have just been seeing this trailer at http://www.alakazam.co.uk and I like some of the tricks that are being showed here.
There is being a wiped clean with a card that is very clean indeed. I can't believe he is revealing it in the trailer, I would keep it a secret for the DVD buyers only. Some of the tricks look like very commercial magic. Christopher Williams is being a good member here on the TheMagicCafe.com so people should be supporting his attempt at a DVD. I am ordering this and the convention DVD for a special pre-order price of £45 from http://www.alakazam.co.uk I am now waiting for Christopher to be releasing his 3 fly routines.
Think not what magic can do for you, but what you can do for magic.

Christopher williams is a smart man and his mind is like 100 watt bulb. I expect this will be a big success he has offered a lot of advice to budding magicians on the Café and his reward will be deserved.

Great to finally see Christopher in action. Looks like he's got some serious chops! I've always enjoyed his posts as he seems like a super smart guy. Looking forward to seeing the dvd.

Hi,
I've just spent two days sessioning with Chris Williams (also Chris Congreave and Kevin Gallagher) and Chris showed us the stuff from the DVD, boy you're in for a treat, real working material and while card handling skill is required the effects are within the reach of most magicians. I've seen Chris perform most of these effects in the real world and I know how well they play. The magic on this DVD will catch you out, some or most of the moves are done on the off beat and the misdirection (direction) is built into the plots. You WILL use these effects and I'm sure this DVD will get your creative juices flowing and give the more creative amongst us plenty of inspiration to develop their own handlings. Nice one Chris. Gary Jones.

I know there's a load of hype nowadays in magic but this really is the dogs b######s, the effect while quite difficult to do is so stunning it really looks like real magic. The four queens are laid out in a row and three indifferent cards are placed on each, sounds familiar, this is where Chris' version moves away from the rest. Each queen vanishes from its pile to join the next queen (no mis shows or false counts) you clearly show each queen when it arrives in the next pile back and front, then they vavish only to appear in the next pile. This looks so clean, my review could never do this justice, Kevin gallagher told Chris that this routine is a competition winner, that coming from someone who has performed at most of the major conventions in the world is quite a compliment. Hi guys, thanks for the kind words. I'll try and clear some things up
First of all, thanks Juan as always for bringing the attention up on this. As for the 3 Fly. I had only used my 3 Fly effect for 8-9 months before looking at releasing it, and I didn't think this was long enough audience practice and I knew I could learn more about my routine by waiting to release it. I am glad I did as I have learned a lot more about the routine since. It will be released (I hope) soon, I have now worked on if for about 14-15 months now, but am still waiting (Sorry to everyone who has been emailing me about this, it is still coming!!!) Thanks Simon and Cameron! I will say now the performances on the DVD are NOT my best performances ever, and there are little things I forgot to add, use etc but the effect and handling that I use can still be seen, and the reactions the routines get are the main point. All of the effects were shot live. The explanations were shot in the studio, and then performances were to be filmed. Whilst having a meal with the guys, we saw it perfect chance to start performing, and we had the cameras, so started filming. When this is available on my site to order, I will have a credits page for the DVD. I tried to credit as best as possible and to my knowledge at the time, however if I have missed anyone or not credited properly, the page will credit the people that deserve it. Matt, the routines are all different. Some require sleight of hand, some are basically self working. Take the effects from the DVD and put your own touch and performance on them and you will have killer routines! Gary, thanks for the kind words! You fooled me badly whilst sessioning, I love it!!! As for the progressive assembly, no it isn't on the DVD. It will be released as a separate, limited edition run, however, this won't be for a while, I want to keep it to myself for now , it is (If I don't say so myself), one of the most magical card routines you will see. As for some who may ask for a demo...no. Though I feel even if you watched a demo video 50 times over, you still wouldn't figure it out, I don't want people to see it and copy it before I have chance to enjoy it and release it. It is my favourite and best creation to date, and am still keeping quiet on it as much as possible at the moment, but thanks again Gary!!! |

Having seen Chris in action quite a few times over the past couple of years all I can say is his material should go straight to the top of your 'A' list, assuming you do card magic.
Chris is a young guy, but very talented. I predict he's going to make the big time and I should know, I spend enough time with top tier magicians to know one when I see one. |

I wish I could sit on some of your sessions gary, I know chris congreve has some great stuff up his sleeves, I'm sure it would be mind blowing stuff! |

Chris also showed me an ungimmicked version of Entourage, cracking, perfect if someone asks you to show them the routine and all you have is a deck of cards, is that on the DVD Chris.
It was good seeing you last week, enjoyed sessioning with you,Gary and Kevin, the best thing the whole two day's though was the line for the 4 aces, I'm still chuckling. Good luck with the DVD mate. |

Yes Chris, ungimmicked Entourage is on the DVD, one my favourite packet effects to perform, and it uses a borrowed deck, so borrowed cards! It also has a kicker finish, which I will keep quiet on for now
Ha! Yes I will admit that line is funny, only for Magicians, if you said it to a layman, they would just agree! Say it with a cheeky smile to a Magician and you won't have to perform the effect, they will be in raptures! However, the routine is going down very well and I am pleased with it's out come!!! |

Is the line/gag tipped on the dvd chris?
cheers mate looking forward to it matt |

No it's not, the effect was came up with at a session, I was messing around with a sandwich routine, and in the end have come up with something special. The gag was Chris's contribution to the routine, which took it from a killer trick, to an awsome killer trick

Oh, is the Entourage effect on the DVD, you take on the simliar effect produced by Gordon Bean, but without the gaffs?
if so, I cant wait! do you know when alakazam will be sending out the pre orders? cheers matt |

The effect to the spectator is exactly the same, however, there is a kicker ending which I won't explain , though it is explained on the DVD, and you will see it in the performance |

Hi,
I received my copy of Chris' new DVD on Monday but I've only watched the first part, I will try and watch it all the way through and do a full review but it may have to be early next week due to gigging. All the best, Gary Jones.

Having watched the DVD through I must say I like your approach to magic in that you focus on generating a good rapport with the audience before you fool their pants off. This approach means they love (rather than hate) you for fooling them. A lesson many modern, young magicians should take note of. One question though. Your performance style reminds me of Martin Sanderson when he works. This is in no way a bad thing or a criticism as Martin is a fantastic performer and person. I wondered if you have spent time with him and picked up some of his mannerisms along the way? Mike |
