Hello Everyone,
I am excited to announce that Martin Nash will be coming to Toronto to hold two separate workshops on Saturday March 24th and Sunday the 25th. Martin is recognized as one of the best card workers in the past few decades, and this is literally a once in a lifetime chance to experience him. And, when I say last chance I mean it. He is retiring after this tour, so if you miss him now, you miss him forever. We were lucky enough to get him to come to Toronto, and agree to share some of his secrets, as well as stories. Specifically, Martin will be talking about presentation, misdirection, and patter construction (and of course a healthy dose of moves and effects). Even more exciting, Martin will discuss creating your own character, and how to make YOU memorable. This is not to be missed! There are currently 3 remaining spots! If you are interested (and you should be!) shoot me a private message or email me. Ben Train P.s. The original date of Thursday the 22nd had to be changed because Martin got quite ill while traveling to get here. If you have already signed up, and haven't yet received an email to let you know, please contact me through the email above or at 416-937-5120. P.p.s. Special thanks to the C.A.M. organization and Danny Archer for helping me set this up, and the Café for letting me tell you all about it!

Yeah, that TOTALLY doesn't make me hardcore.
They're just fun to watch. Now, if anyone could do HALF of what he does in the vids - THAT would be hardcore.

I'm sorry to report that Martin Nash has been involved in a car accident in Canada... his car was rear-ended by an 18 wheeler during a snowstorm... many other accidents occurred on that same stretch of highway around the same time…
Martin has suffered a concussion as has his lady friend Heather (she may also have a broken bone in her neck)... his car is totaled and on the advise of his doctors he is not to travel, so he is forced to cancel his scheduled lecture tour. Martin feels horrible that won’t be able to appear and share his magic with his many friends and fans. At this time we are unsure what the future will be in regard to his lecturing. I hope that you will all join me in wishing Martin and Heather a speedy and full recovery. Wow.... this is certainly a shocking news.
About a year ago, an 18-wheeler tailgating me almost crashed into my car. I know that JUST the psychological part of the damage can be immense.... I really wish them a speedy recovery. |

Wow. The man has been through some very heavy duty issues over the last few years and now this. I wish them both a very speedy recovery. Martin is a resilient man and will bounce back.

I want to let everyone know that David Ben, one of the finest magicians in the world, has agreed to step in and lead the workshops in Martin's absence.
Anyone wishing to attend these workshops should call me directly at 416-937-5120. There will be two SEPARATE workshops on Saturday (tomorow. The 24th) and Sunday (the 25th of March), both starting at 2:30 pm. The price is VERY reasonable, and a few spots opened because we had to change the times. I hope to see you there, and I wish Martin, again, a speedy recovery. Ben Train

If anyone sees Martin pass on my best. I haven't seen him for a couple of years and hope this is the end of his run of bad luck.

I was going to see him in Edmonton when he got delayed because of snow. Its tragic to hear that just a week later he got into a car accident! Best wishes and a speedy recovery to the both of them.

Here's the latest update on Martin Nash.
Martin had been scheduled to lecture in Edmonton on March 16, 2007. Early that afternoon, I received a phone call from Martin advising that they were forced to stop about 350 kms west of Edmonton due to a blinding snowstorm that made the roads completely impassable. On top of that, Martin had been suffering from bronchitis and was running a very high fever. Luckily, Martin's finace (Heather) was also a medical doctor and was able to provide assistance to him while they waited for his fever to break. On Monday, Martin and Heather arrived in Edmonton, where I put them up in a hotel overnight. At Martin's request, we postponed the Edmonton lecture until his return trip. This would hopefully give him a couple of extra days to get his strength back up before embarking upon a very hectic east cost lecture tour. Martin and Heather left Edmonton on Tuesday. About 1.5 hours out of Edmonton, they were faced with blowing winds and snow. Everyone was driving slowly for the conditions - everyone except one semi with a double load trailer. It rear ended Martin's beloved Lincoln Mark 8 and totalled it. Martin called me on Wednesday evening to break the news. Martin had a concussion with soft tissue injuries. Heather also had soft tissue injuries, along with a potential fracture in her nect. The next morning, I drove out to the town where they were staying. Since they were scheduled to revisit the doctor on Saturday, they couldn't come back into the City with me; however, we knew by then that there was no way they could proceed with the rest of the lecture tour. I picked up all of their excess luggage and lecture materials and had them couriered back to their home in B.C. Martin indicated that they wouldn't be able to come back to Edmonton until Monday. As I was going to be out of town at that time, I contacted one of Martin's long time friends and arranged to have him drive Martin and Heather back to Edmonton. I also arranged for a prepaid hotel for them to stay in for as long as they needed. During the course of the following week, Martin and Heather continued seeing doctors and personal injury lawyers in Edmonton. Luckily, Heather's neck does not appear to have been fractured and the injuries should resolve themselves over time. I had a chance to meet up with them on several occasions and they seem to be doing as well as can be expected in the circumstances (Even after all of this, the guy was still dealing centers and seconds as easily as he breathed!) On April 4, 2007, I paid for Martin and Heather's return flight to B.C. They should be home by now, resting. Kent

I just got an update from BC.
Marty is doing well and getting lots of rest but he's taking it easy on the card magic for a little while. He's a tough guy and seems to be recovering quite well. I however, am very sad to see that dark purple car get put to rest.
