I'm new to magic, new (more or less) to the company I'm working for.

I'm a writer and I've been hired on to work for a magic company called Philip and Henry Productions. So, to be able to write about all of this stuff with something resembling authority, I'm going read and participate as much as possible in discussions on the industry, how things work, and whatnot. As a writer I feel the need to know what I'm talking about. As a geek, I just love to immerse myself in information anyway. Smile

So, here is my first post, starting (effectively) from the bottom.

Any recommendations for informational resources?

Two books you ought to read to get into the language and idea of magic, one is called Mark Wilson's complete Course in Magic, the other is Mystery School by McBride and Burger. The first will introduce you to some of the basic principles of magic as well as terminology commonly used by magicians, the second one is on the total opposite end of the scale, it will introduce you to the philosophy and theory behind what constitutes magic and magical moments that magicians seek to create. Welcome to the Café.
