I'm 80% done with this new site design. Can any of you great reviewers out their offer some comments or feedback, ways to improve it, if needed?

Try and get rid of the advertising for other businesses.
Get some pics of children being entertained in the birthday and preschool sections. Also, my computer seemed to freeze for a bit while loading some pages...very annoying...but then, it might just be my computer. I was expecting more in the photo gallery than seeing you with other magicians (which won't impress most clients, as they won't know who they are). All in all, pretty good website. |

I try not to give my opinion on other people's websites because, like most magicians here, I am a magician and not a marketing guru.
However, some of the text lies over the top of other text when I view it. I'm unsure why this is. PS- Your balloons are GREAT! I always love seeing balloonists who can convey emotion with simple designs. Your rabbit in the hat is tops! |

I have to say that, Michael, you get it! Your video is great (and your MA accent didn't even show...much, just kidding)! Your site looks clean and professional, which is hard to see now with all the kid show performers.
Even with the advertising on the side, it still looked really good! I didn't see the text lying over text like Nicholas did; maybe you fixed it. Anyway, great site! Josh London P.S. I noticed you uploaded your video with YouTube. For some reason, Google Video is a lot crisper-looking. |

Mikey,
My browser (Mozilla FireFox) crashed each time I tried loading your "Library" page. There might be a problem with your audio clips trying to load all at the same time. Otherwise, the site looks good. Jim |

Mikey, don't let any of these pansies make fun of your N.E. accent. *grin* (Then again, I'm a Milton native, just a few miles north of you, albeit transplanted to Philly).
Overall, you've got some nice things on your site. Now, this Bah-stonian takes his gloves off! I agree about the ads. Personally, I'd remove them. You have a fun personality, both in your photos and video. So, next, I'd show that off a bit more: make your image at the top, left a little larger. I like your "breaking the border" with his leg falling over the border. It adds that little extra something. Maybe put the Clients section up higher. Maybe almost on top. I think this is an important element. Showcase it. Plus, you've got a TON of letters. Maybe highlight some of the text in Photoshop and enlarge it. Regarding the menu, I like simple. Maybe condense many of your options together. You don't want to overwhelm someone with too many choices. I.E., put Photos, DVD, and Video together under "Media." Put the Check Availability form under "Contact Us." I hope I didn't go on too long! Like I said, I like your design concept and really hope you benefit. You look like you have a lot of fun when performing, and you captured that very well. Great job! Scott Edit: After seeing Jim's post, I tried FireFox. While it didn't crash mine, it did grind to a halt as they loaded. I normally use Safari and/or FireFox on Mac OS X, just FYI. Maybe switch to a Flash player that doesn't load until you press play, like all those "Play Audio" testimonials so popular today. |

I reprogrammed the sound files as waves instead of mp3s, and it seems to load easier. Can you please test on your end and see if the songs play?

Great site, nice work. I am also working on my website. I love the idea of a DVD Brochure. Im moving to MA in a few months, maybe I'll see you around.

Remove the ads... What would you do if an ad like "Magician and balloonist available for hire at $25. Avail $10 discount by clicking here!" appears on the page? You'll earn maybe a few cents... and lose on dollars.
You're already going to earn money from this website, so I'd recommend, remove them.
