This is going to sound strange.
I am going through my decks of cards (about 100 decks) to straighten then out. Along with regular decks I have several gaffed decks such as Stripper, double backs, blank, Svengali etc. Having said that I found among my decks a deck that is all doubles...no long or short or rough and smooth just doubles along with a double back in opposite color with them. OK...here is the strange part...Why do I have this deck? What is it used for? I cannot find any documentation for this nor can I remember ever having used it (wow talk about magic). I have been playing with it for about an hour now and cannot come up with any effect worth while. Help.

Are you referring to faces on both sides? And if so, the same faces on both sides or different. (The 'regular' USPCC double facers tend to be set out in a particular pattern - ie joker/5S and 9H/QS. A few are what is know as same both sides.)
As for the double backers - I'm assuming they are blue one side and red the other? (They also come in blue/blue & red/red) Its difficult to know where to start with your question really. But off the top of my head: The double facers: Anniversay Waltz - Doc Eason red/blue backers: Tattoo You - John Bannon red/red backers: Muldoon Match - Paul Gordon There are thousands more effects that utilise these, so I'm afraid its gonna have to be a sit down with a coffee and some time at the search function. Sory I dfid not explain myself very well. I reread my post and can understand the confusion.
When I said doubles I meant that there are 2(3 of spades), 2(queen of clubs) etc. along with one double back card (blue and red). I hopoe this explains it better.

So you have a deck with 26 doubles; correct? I can ID one certain purpose for this set-up, but it doesn't use the double-backed card. PM me if you want more info.

If the card faces were different on both sides, I'd have suggested Jay Sankey's Astral Projection. I'm a little curious as to the application of a double faced deck where the card faces are the same on both sides, myself.

It sounds like a Mene Tekel deck, but without one card of each pair trimmed short.

Mene Teckel. I particularly like the late Tommy Wonder's wonderful effect Queen Elizabeth IV, on one of the DVDs (sorry forget which one) and also I think I recall, in his Books of Wonder. Really a great effect. You may need a corresponding black Mene Teckel deck, I don't recall. I've got to go back and work on that one. As you might expect, Tommy did a brilliant job of explaining how he uses the deck for QE IV.
I think Encyclopedia of Card Magic (by Hugard, I think - available from Dover books) has a whole section on these decks. kerpa a/k/a Michael Miller Chicago area

Perhaps the idea is that you have someone pick any card and then you use the duplicate of the selection along with the double backer (red/blue) and a double turnover to show that you have a matching 'prediction' card with an odd coloured back in the deck?
I haven't really worked out the logistics but I think it would certainly be do-able. Dave.

Acesover,
I like you have well over 100 gaffed decks and am always finding one that I cannot figure out its use. Eventually something will come to me that the deck can be used for. Have to quit this addiction of buying magic I guess... Rennie
The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......
