When producing silks, stick a small ball of Blu-tak to one of the corners. Now once you produce it, throw it. This looks great as it comes to land.

Never would have thought of that! Mine just float out there and wander around. Great idea. Keep them coming. Thanks!

Great idea, Tom. I was looking for a way to make my silks float like that after watching the way a football referee's flag floats to the ground. The blu-tak is an ingenious method that I never would have thought of.

Thanks for the tip Carron,
I might try sewing on a weight of some kind. I'm afraid the blu-tak might get on other parts of my silk esp. on a hot day. It might be a crime but if I put silk in a load chamber, like a genii tube, I put a little double stick tape in the chamber right where I want the corners. Then I'm not looking for the corners, I'm just reaching in and displaying. Be aware that you are sticking it directly to the silk so there is bound to be some transference if stick-'em to the silk but I have not had a problem yet. I did weaken the sticky surface a bit with my fingers so it won't stick too tightly. I tried sewing in tiny magnets but I did not like the other problems it caused. -Mary Mowder |

Maybe you should try to explain what you are trying to accomplish, as your original post was written like you were giving advice, not asking if it was something to try that may have some kind of effect on a silk. I believe it would have something to do with size verses mass as well. Awaiting your response. |

A small fishing weight sewn in the corner will do the same thing. In one silk, put a rubber ball and bounce the silk after throwing several.
I you do my mutilated parasol this way. First silks are lofted in the air and snagged between the fingers (no weights). Last one is bounced and lands right into the change bag. Geta a laugh and plays well. Richard
