I originally posted this in another thread, then realized
this might be a more fitting place I saw these guys in Stockhlm in 2006. I was there for FISM, this was "an added bonus"! A Swedish Magician, John Houdi, managed to film them. This is a link to the film: http://www.houdi.com/filmer/3shell/ This particular crew were russians, or at least easteuropeans. The smallest bills I saw in play were SEK 500.- that's about $70-90.- Notice the guy who sees Houdi filming and approaches him, no verbal communication is neccessary...

I'm writing this from Copenhagen where the teams are out in force. Three teams in a one block area all with the same setup, matchboxes and carpet squares. Lots of money changing hands quickly, all a bit one sided of course. No pictures this time, they're too tightly packed to get close enough.
No trees were killed in the making of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Just got bavk from Stockholm and there were at least two crews working the shell game with match boxes. They were East Europeans and clearly working together. Both teams consisted at least four shills and I believe there were two additional shills stopping by both crews.
One team was the same that was working during FISM last year. I think it is a shame that the authorities allow this obvious scam. |

They probably don't, or at least wouldn't if they could catch them. So far all my sightings have been only a few minutes each. I stop to look in a store, when I come out all signs of them ever being there were gone.
