The best way is to upload them to a video service like YouTube, so that we (the surfers) can view them without having to download them. It also ensures we don't need to download an additional CODEC or something of that sort.

I agree with JoeJoe. The computer I'm on has trouble loading wmv files. Youtube and other video sights are the way to go.

You can also upload them to a file sharing service such as megaupload.com or rapidshare.com and then post a link, but YouTube is probably the most user-friendly option.

Having a wmv file for posting is an answer looking for a problem.
What is the purpose of viewing the video? See, for casual viewers, the answer is to push to a video streaming site (Soapbox, YouTube, Break.com, Vimeo , Jumpcut, Blip.tv, Metacafe, Revver, iFilm ) This allows the video to play as it downloads to the PC. It also will work with most browsers that support Flash. If the purpose is for reference (like instructional video), then a downloadable-playable later file is better. While AVI formats compress well, they are proprietary (but work in certain standalone DVD players). MP4 format can be small and is usable on video ipods and similar personal video players. And then you must consider quality (resolution, FPS) as well as length of video. Much to chew on yet. |

At the moment my favorite site is http://www.veoh.com
Some of the movies available are near DVD quality. This is where I got my copy of Kill Bill and Scarface. You can upload your video's there also so other's can enjoy them. Iven
