On David Stone's "Real Secrets of Magic" DVD, he does a marvelous bottle production at the tail end of coin-to-silk routine called Bite Me. In the explanation section, he flashes the gimmick (holstered to his belt) but doesn't say what it's called or who manufactures it. (I have never seen Splash Bottle but I don't think that's it.)
Does any one know? - Padraig

Yes, Bite Me is executed using the Splash Bottle. It's in the credits.

Well, I double-checked the credits, and you are both correct. I've ordered Splash Bottle -- thanks! While I'm in full-throttle dumb ass mode, can anyone tell me what kind of coins he uses for Bite Me and for his One Coin routine? At one point he says, half under his breath, that it's an American dollar, but a few close-up shots show something different -- a coin with an embossing pattern I've never seen. They're about the size of a US silver Kennedy half dollar, but shinier and maybe slightly larger.
Anyone?

Yes they are larger. David is using Eisenhower Silver Dollars, beautiful coins.

Hey Ryan:
Are they they the commemorative Ikes or the regular ones? The former have an oversized moon with the liberty bell superimposed in the foreground and only appeared in 1975-76; the latter have the bald eagle. I'm going to pause that sucker and get a super close look! Many thanks! - Padraig

I'm 99% sure that he's using the Liberty Bell versions. You'll have to get them from a coin shop or Ebay. Just ask for some old soft (insert coin of choice here). They'll be happy to get rid of the soft ones.

Hey Ryan:
I took a pic of my TV screen with Stone displaying his coins, and showed it to a local coin dealer in the biz for 30 years. He instantly said, "That's a Morgan, not the Peace version of 1921, the regular. No doubt at all." To double-check, I did something radical and emailed David Stone. Sure enough, he wrote me back to say that indeed he uses the regular Morgans. FYI.

Well I was wrong.
On his One-Coin performance, I could have sworn it was an Eisenhower. All the best, --Ryan |
