I just got coin unique and can see many uses for it. One that comes to mind is to use it to end my spare change routine. I do spare change with a sun and moon gimmick using a half dollar and english penny. I end the routine with a half dollar and a quarter which are totally ordinary. I often will pass them out for emamination if they are interested. Since I end with these two coins, a simple switch and I can cause the quarter to disappear in their hand. I can also make it reappear somewhere else if I like. This is just an idea.
I also thought of sticking a regular quarter on the back of their hand and then putting the "two" coins in their hand. Show your hands empty, slide the half over the quarter and have them close their hand. With an empty hand pluck the quarter off the back of their hand, claiming you pulled it through their hand. When they open their hand up they find only a half dollar. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for this great gimmick? Thanks. -Paul

Do not own this one, but am looking into purchasing. What's your opinion on the handling, quality, examinability, etc...?
How obvious is it to notice the gaffing? How strong is the gimmick? Thanks

They should make it in dime and quarter.

I agree. A smaller denomination as you said or even nickel/quarter would be nice.

This is a great gaffed coin.. I showed one of the hardest audiences (my Wife and my Mother) an effect with coin unique last night..Simply put one coin over the other turn over a glass and cover the coins..with a very quick swirling motion, move the coins around the mouth of the glass..one of the coins disappears!Needless to say both of them were blown away...I followed this by Hopping Halfs, and a flipper coin effect...They reckon I should be on a stage..( a stagecoach perhaps!!)
Anymore ideas for Coin unique Guys? |

I'm curious what you all think of Miracle Coin? I'm not too drawn to working with half dollar, but gold dollars and certainly quarters are common enough. Any feedback?

I've had miracle coin for some time now and it's great. Effects like the one described above work easily. Same concept, just different size and I assume a different maker. Scotch and soda routines work well with this coin also.
Best of luck............

As far as the examinability, I heard from some they don't let the spectator examine it, as for me, I do let the spectator examine it and have never been questioned. The spectator will not notice the gaff and the gimmick is strong enough not to worry the quarter will fall out. paso8396, I sent you a pm on my routine. It would have been a little bit of exposure to post it. |

Thanks for the comments guys.
My gimmick is very strong and can only come apart with another strong Ma***t. So it is quite examinable. The lines are hard to see unless you are looking for them. I think this is a great coin gimmick. I like that you can cause a coin to disappear in their hand without worrying about the coins locking. With a dime and penny or scotch and soda locking can be an issue if you do it in their hand. This one does all the work for you. Another idea I am working on is once I do spare change and switch in the coin unique gimmick you: place the coins in their hand and cause the quarter to vanish Then using an M5 on your wrist or the raven cause the half dollar to vanish with a wave of your hands. Let me know what you think of the M5/raven vanish off of their open palm. Thanks.

I use the PK ring to reset the gimmick. However, it only works on my one set, my other set is stronger and the PK ring doesn't work.
I also use my 2 sets of coin unique in play with the "invisible quarters" effect. I first vanish the quarters with my coin unique sets only to have them reappear inside the shot glass using the "invisible quarters" effect. |

Tbaer,
That sounds interesting, but where do you get the "invisible quarters" effect? Thanks.

I watched a demo of coin unique surfing the web awhile back, however, I can't seem to locate one at this time. But I'm sure if you search long enough you will be able to find a link.

Martin Sanderson has a nice effect utilizing the Coin Unique gimmick - I believe it is on his Corporate Closeup DVD.

When I was a student at Uni I used to do the "Swirl away" vanish at a local golf club where I worked behind the bar.
I did the effect on the bar top using a beer towel as a close up mat, after the coin had gone I would pick up the towel to reveal the vanished coin which I had placed there prior to the effect. I used to put pennies under each of the towels in both bars to be sure I could always do it as I used to get requests for this all the time. Tom
