I'm looking for a way to make a memory demonstration hilarious.
it's the standard memory feat of remembering 20 objects and their number and details. I'm looking for a way to make it funny, I thought maybe a grocery store theme but that would seriously limit the choice of objects they have. maybe something with a dream I had. off course it's hard to plot cuz the objects will be different everytime. maybe just acting mad and dissapointed at the objects they name? any tips |

I've done a similar routine, but I limit it to 10 objects, because I've found that 10 is pretty much as impressive as 20, and 20 can drag on a little too long. To make it funny, I comment on the objects as they are named, especially if I can correlate 2 of them together. Sometimes no. 2 might be "toilet paper" and no. 7 might be "Exlax" so I would make a joke about the two of them. You have to think on your feet, but with practice, it is possible. Rather than limit it to a grocery store, I usually just say "WalMart" because there are so many items there, including groceries. I tell them I'll memorize the list in 60 seconds... or 1 minute, whichever is less. This starts it off with a laugh. To keep it somewhat entertaining as the 60 seconds tick by, I have a timekeeper call out in 10 second intervals to let me know where we are, and I instruct everyone that when the timekeeper gets to 10, everyone should count down out loud from 10 to 1. This gives them something to do and to focus on while I memorize the list. When the timekeeper gets to 40, I usually make a remark about their watch being fast, which gets another laugh. These are some things I do to make it more entertaining, and these little bits do help. Best of luck, Jeff

How about using Chuck Hickok's Memory Postcard demonstration and as you call oput the states that yo visited, recall some funny incidents that happened to you during your cross country trip ... with your dog!
