I can't seem to get this. I'm sure you all know the bit--the ball slowly rolls down his hand, magically. Maybe it's the ball (I'm using a hard foam ball). but.....It always just falls out of my hand and onto the floor. Any help, be it here on by PM would be appreciated.
Thank you all!! Best, Monte |

Try a bouncy-ball or a fakini silicone ball. Check out other DVDs of other performers and how they do it. Get the McBride DVDs on billiard ball manipulation. They are a great resource with not only moves and ideas but routines that take you from beginner to expert.

The book "The Magic of Alan Wakeling" has the "move" in it. It does take some practice.

I think Wakeling's move (the book is great by the way) is different because the balls he used were so large. He used his ring finger and the usual method uses the middle finger.

Hard foam? The ball might be too light.

Kregg--Yes!
Tried this with a pure blue silicone ball, and I got that resistance that I needed to keep it from falling. Problem solved. thanks again all!! Best, Monte |

I believe the move you are referring to is called "The Alexander Ball Roll" (named after the vaudeville juggling act "Alexander Brothers and Evelyn").
