Does anyone have any experience with SIL-X balls? I am thinking of buying five of them.

http://www.higginsbrothers.com/buysilx.htm

The description sounds good but has anyone actually juggled them? Is there a risk of popping? How do they react when they collide in mid air?

thanks in advance,
Lucas

Sounds interesting! Russian balls are great according to other jugglers. I have no expeience so I cant answer. Thanks for the link! Give us a review if you buy them - please!

I recently had a go of these balls.

Getting five going took two or three attempts, but once they were up it wasn't hard to adjust to the difference that the silicone makes. They do collide in a slightly different way to normal balls but not so different that you have no hope of catching them and continuing the pattern.

Yep, excellent for head and foot catches. But playing with them for just five minutes was enough to tell me I didn't want to buy any.

Head rolls are wierd. Possible, but weird. Elbow stalls are easier than normal.

I know some well respected contact jugglers who are seriously thinking about buying them too..

No more risk of popping than splitting a normal stage ball I'd imagine, they didn't feel at all delicate to me.

There isn't much silicone inside them, the balls are roughly the same weight as standard stage balls.

Well in the end I didn't end up purchasing a set of these balls (I went for a set of Renegade filled stage balls insted) but I will probably look into these more in the future.
