Seriously. With nothing to hide behind, will you be a good enough showman to make people forget that you are naked?

Of course, it would also force you to evalute how and where to carry props - ah hah!

And, if you pull it off, I promise you will never fear another challenge!

Although I haven't had to do it yet...I could probably pull it off.
Just thinking of unique tricks I could do.
Cut and restored...
I'm going to stop thinking now.

I have had this dream many, many times; and in my dreams I always fail terribly.

I have been flashed on purpose during a show, for the whole show, and every time I turned to face this giggling young lady she stopped me dead in my tracks. I forgot what I was talking about, which made her giggle all the more.

BDC,

THANKS for the vision now I am both blind and afraid to go to sleep! (Hehehe!) Just kidding. Great thought, though.

They say if you're uncomfortable in front of an audience, you should just imagine them in their underwear. I've always just imagined myself in MY underwear. It seems to work for me. Smile

This all ties into my "traumatic event" theory of performing.

I think you lived my nightmare, doing a magic show, naked, and surrounded by cameras. Yea that is my reoccurring dream that gives me cold sweats in the middle of the night. Boy Kip I'll bet your parents are proud of you.

Me performing naked on stage? The thought of my naked fat butt on stage is something even I find revolting and disgusting. I would not allow expectant mothers and small animals within 3000 ft of that venue for fear of what might happen. I mean we are taking end of the world, wrath of God kind of reactions.

Plus, I don't even want to go into where I am going to put the card and billiard ball loads, OUCH!!!!

Yes, I have had that dream. Geez, how many times have I performed in the buff in my dreams! No one in my audience ever seems to notice, so I somehow try to go on with the show. (Freud would have loved to have analyzed that one!)

You must admit, "Scotch and Soda", done slowly and deliberately while wearing a swimsuit (or less) seems like a pure miracle to a guy who has no clue about magic Smile

...Brings to mind the Canadian magician who does the bawdy, stripper routine with the "vanishing/reappearing red hankerchief" I think she should get the Gary Darwin award for the "Most Creative Use of a TT".

Wonder is very necessary in life. When we're little kids, we're filled with wonder for the world - it's fascinating and miraculous. A lot of people lose that. They become cynical and jaded, especially in modern day society. Magic renews that wonder.

Ah, so that is her name! I had no idea who she was. Does she do other naughty magic or was she just here in a link?

Oh, Al Angello, OF COURSE you have never seen her perform. I quote your post: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/searc......=4921148 Smile If anybody, she truly belongs in this thread..."Just go naked".

You know, living in Europe half of the time has made me pretty immune to nudity. The newspaper front page carries a picture of a different topless woman daily. This photo is there for the simple pleasure admiring beautiful women. My first sauna at the swimming pool was mixed male and female. I only realized, when the steam cleared a bit, that everyone was nude.

I went outside and mentioned this to my husband who was about to come in the sauna. He said, "Maybe we should go naked." So we both peeled, covered with our towels and went in. He chickened out within two minutes and blasted out of that sauna leaving me there with a bunch of naked folk.

I have seen a lot of naked Europeans without even trying. The only thing that unnerves me is they give you NO gown in the doctor's office. Not even the terrible American style gown where your little bum peaks out the back! So I bring a long tee shirt.

A member I will not name took 15 minutes to watch that clip. I told him the version I'd seen was much shorter. He informed me we had in fact watched the same clip - just I hadn't hit the pause button.

I must have worked out the method much faster than he did?

Well, we certainly weren't expecting to go there...

Seriously, the principle here is sound - how do you deal with issues of vulnerability on stage, exposure, body image, self confidence, etc... There is far more to be discussed here than the "naughty" stuff...

Although I must admit that I did watch Ursula Martinez's performance with strident interest... Smile

You have caught me in a lie, I have seen Ursula's work, only for educational purposes, but I swear to you, I have never seen the pictures on page 3 on the Sun news paper, unless you have been talking to my wife. LOL

I am very sorry to have derailed the topic, Big Daddy Cool. Smile

I will try to focus on body image and the issues you requested. Smile The issues I personally deal with are making sure I stay skinny enough to keep my illusions from looking like they are "breathing by themselves" when I am vanished inside the prop. This is challenging when I am traveling and having to eat out a lot.

I also have a tough time when I am traveling finding a gym that has good fitness equipment so I can keep my same fitness level while I travel. I am shaped more like Beyonce' or Jennifer Lopez. In other words, I have ethnic hips so this is the place I take care not to "blossom".

The photographers can make you or break you. A professional photographer took photos at one casino show and caught me just at the right angle when I was jumping out of a prop and into the arms of my male assistant. From then on, my stage manager has called me "boodie-licious". That did make me feel a bit vulnerable at first, but I came to realize that her European culture usually prefers super-thin hips, but Indians come with curves! Smile

Performing naked, that sure would ruin the whole premis of the patter to my cards up the sleeve routine. And the thought of Al performing naked...I've gone blind! I've gone blind!
