The Pendragons were in town for their tour of "The Ghosts of Broadway." I ended up getting to help them and was fortunate to talk to him and his wife before and after the show. Let me start by saying it is a miracle he is performing only six months after his accident. I think he is crazy and a genius all at the same time. Johnathon's physical condition is very good. You can tell he is very tired and fatigued. The show over all was good for his condition. He was not up to his normal speed but overall he was amazing. They even did their famous metamorphisis. It was a spectacle. It is one of those tricks on your list that you have to see live before you die or that person dies. I can now scratch that particular one off my list. Charlotte is also very well. She still has the same genuine smile and was as pleasent and funny as she could be. They were such a wonderful couple. I usually sike myself up to deal with egos when you get around celebrity magicians. I did that for no reason this time. They were one of the nicest couples I have ever met. They will talk to you about whatever your heart desires. They both were welcoming and very easy to talk to. If they are in your town or close doing this show or anything make sure you get out and see them. You will be so glad you did. I know I am! They are truly marvelous.

Awesome. I saw the show in november. I believe it was the second performance of it. It was also the first time he did the metamorphosis after the accident. The show is great.
Anyone that has a chance to see it, do so.

I went with MattMcCoy to see this show also and I do have to say they very same thing. I hand it to them both and especially Johnathan, for having been through an experience like they have been, it is truly remarkable that they can put themselves in front of an audience this early after an accident of that nature. Now that is a feat of magic in itself, most definitly astonishing. I want to wish the Pendragon's the warmest wishes and of course continued strength and recovery. I hope the best for their show and their continued success!!!!!

Don't want to hijack Matt's thread, but we just got back from seeing the Pendragons show in Kansas City Friday night at a community college. It was a wonderful opportunity to finally see them perform live.
I must agree with most of Matt's observations on Jonathan's condition. It is simply amazing that he is out on the road, so soon after the major life threatening ordeal that he went through. However, it is slowing him down. The show, in gerneal, is very slow paced. This really surprised me, as I had in mind that the Pendragons would mean a fast paced, bang bang bang performance. This is an older, more mature Pendragons. However, Jonathan is a very personable performer, and my family enjoyed this aspect about him. My wife was impressed with Jonathan's constant display of affection for his wife of 30 years, which was very genuine. (Women - geesh. "What about that Thin Sawing honey?) Aa fast as their sub-trunk still is, I think that they raced out to the theater lobby even faster after the show closed. They were situated at a table, signing autographs for fans on photos available for $5. They were very personable, and Jonathan is certainly a talker. They stayed and posed for photos for anyone who wanted one, and both exude a very genuine appreciate for their fans. All I can say is that they are a must see if you get the opportunity to catch them. Here's some photos we took: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w136/......_set.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w136/......Logo.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w136/......0-07.jpg |

NIce to hear about good people. Taking time to talk to younger magicians and magicians in general was one of the traits that endeared Harry Blackstone Jr. to people. As Harry once told when I asked why he was signing so many autographs and talking with people when he was clearly exhausted..."It's part of the business". Lesson learned.

I just came back from the show tonight in Kansas City as well. Everything said so far is true. The show was incredible, Johnathan was in good spirits, it was a very entertaining event. They were very easy to talk to and congenial, until I mentioned my 32 phase Oil and Water routine that is...

The Pendragons are good people. Johnathon helped me out a lot when I was getting started, for that I say thank you.
